U.S. Agency for International Development — Sustainable Fisheries in the Philippines
USAID/Manila announces a 5-year program called “Fish Right” to enhance the sustainable use and resilience of coastal and marine resources that provide food, livelihoods, and coastal protection to communities in the Philippines. Fish Right will focus on marine key biodiversity areas, with special attention on “wild” or capture fisheries and the communities that depend on them. Eligibility for funding extends to NGOs in the USA and Philippines; for-profit NGOs willing to forego their fees; private voluntary organizations; universities; foundations; consortiums; and international organizations. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany calls for proposals for small development projects in Myanmar. Projects may fall into the one or more thematic areas of the Terra Viva Grants Directory. Mennonite Economic Development Associates — Non-Traditional Finance for Agricultural Innovations
MEDA calls for proposals focusing on non-traditional finance to catalyze agricultural innovation by smallholder farmers in East Africa, the Andes region of South America, and South Asia. The call is open to private enterprises (including cooperatives and producer associations), financial institutions, finance-oriented organizations, research institutions, and NGOs. Applicants may be based in the target regions or outside the target regions, but project implementation must be in the target regions. Scottish Government — International Development Small Grants 2018
The Scottish Government’s International Development Small Grants Programme provides project funding in support of the government’s International Development Policy. Applications for grants are invited from incorporated not-for-profit organisations which have a presence in Scotland and an annual turnover of less than £200 thousand. Project grants should focus on any of Malawi, Rwanda, or Zambia in themes of food security; renewable energy; climate change; water; and others. Grants for capacity building and feasibility studies will be accepted in relation to any country designated as medium/low on the UN’s Human Development Index — but with priority for Malawi, Rwanda, and Zambia. Awards are a maximum of £60 thousand for project grants over three years, or a maximum of £10 thousand for feasibility and capacity building grants over one year. Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund — Funding for Projects Led by Women 2018
VGIF provides grants up to US$7,500 for projects that are led by women, and that help empower women and girls in grassroots communities around the globe. Most grants are for one year. Past projects include examples in farming, kitchen gardens, water supply, and other aspects of sustaining local livelihoods. VGIF will accept letters of intent through 02 October 2017. Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade — Water for Women in Asia-Pacific Countries
The Water for Women Fund aims to improve health, gender equality, and well-being of Asian and Pacific communities. Australia’s DFAT invites proposals for projects from civil society and not-for-profit organisations that promote access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). The eligible countries are Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kiribati, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam. European Commission — Mediterranean Cross-Border Cooperation
The EC announces the first call for proposals of the ENI CBC “Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020″. The program aims to promote business and entrepreneurship (including in agriculture), and to promote coordination of efforts for environmental protection and climate change adaptation and mitigation. Project partnerships should be composed of a minimum of three eligible countries, including at least one EU Mediterranean Country and one Mediterranean Partner Country. WWF in India — Small Grants Program
WWF-India offers grants up to Rs. 400 thousand for conservation research or action projects of up to two years. Grants are made to individuals to be utilized primarily for field activities. Mission Innovation — Off-Grid Access to Electricity in India
The Off-Grid Access to Electricity Innovation Challenge will financially support studies, research, standards, capacity building, and technical assistance to improve affordable energy access for individuals and communities in India with no or limited access to grid connected power. Proposals are invited from qualified researchers and professionals in regular position at Indian institutions drawn from Indian academic and publicly-funded R&D laboratories.
