German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development — Agricultural Innovation for Climate Resilience Program

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) seeks scalable innovative solutions that support farmers and other agriculture stakeholders to build capabilities to mitigate effects of climate change on low- and middle-income countries. Selected teams will be invited to participate in a virtual WFP Innovation Bootcamp and receive up to US$150 thousand in funding. The geographical focus is Sub-Saharan Africa. Expo Live — Innovation Impact Grant Programme

Expo Live supports novel solutions that address pressing environmental and climate challenges. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in funding to support the growth of social enterprises, startups and grassroots projects from around the world that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges. The Grant Program is open to social entrepreneurs, SMEs, non-profit organizations, and government entities. Interested applicants should submit a pre-proposal by 01 March 2023. CMCC Foundation — Climate Change Communication Award

The CMCC Climate Change Communication Award aims to showcase and promote the most creative and impactful initiatives that increase public awareness and disseminate science-based information and data related to climate change. Eligible submissions must present projects, initiatives and tools that communicate climate change through various forms such as arts, theater, video, podcasts, music, photography, journalism, gaming, education, or the use of digital channels and tools. The winning project will receive a cash prize of €5,000. The Award is open to individuals, teams or organizations, regardless of nationality. Eligible submissions must be sent by 15 June 2023. Credit Suisse — Lead 2030 Challenge for SDG 14 (Life Below Water)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 14 seeks solutions that could protect and/or restore existing ocean based resources. The challenge welcomes solutions from entrepreneurs with for-profit enterprises. The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from Credit Suisse. Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area — Award

PRIMA WEFE Nexus Award is assigned to research teams and practitioners that have devised and demonstrated the successful implementation of combined management practices of water, energy, food and ecosystem resources at the local or regional scale in the Mediterranean area. PRIMA will award two winners with €10 thousand each. The contestants for the prize must be a legal entity. The deadline for nominations is 22 March 2023. PRIMA Award

UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network — Youth Solutions Program

The Youth Solutions Program provides young innovators with access to experts, training, and exposure to opportunities. You have an innovative solution that addresses one or more of the SDGs. The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network seeks early-stage startups that have a prototype and are actively testing with users or beneficiaries. Udaan Youth Club Tyodhi — YouthLeadG20 Fellowship Program

The YouthLeadG20 Fellowship Program is a virtual forum for young changemakers to share their opinion around the possibilities of India’s G20 Presidency and youth-related focus areas, including Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, among others. Selected fellows will be promoted to YouthLeadG20 ambassador in their countries, certification and direct consideration for similar opportunities. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants India

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers support for the production of in-depth reports on India’s progress towards a Net Zero economy through a Just Energy Transition. The Earth Journalism Network aims to support the production of reports that raise awareness and drive conversations among communities and policymakers at local, national and regional levels. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants South Africa

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in South Africa to support the production of in-depth stories on South Africa’s Road to Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions. The Earth Journalism Network aims to support the production of stories that raise awareness about South Africa’s net zero target and drive conversation among communities and policy makers at the local, national, and regional level. EJN expects to award five story grants with an average budget of €1,000. Journalists interested in covering the transition to Net Zero are invited to apply. United Nations Foundation — SDG Workshop

The Big Brainstorm seeks young leaders from around the world for a two week workshop to prototype and launch initiatives to tackle the world’s most urgent sustainable development challenges. Participants apply to one of eight Action Groups, including Climate & Sustainability, among others. Each Action Group will prototype initiatives to solve real-world problems. Each Action Group will be given 8 minutes to present to partners, donors, and other young thinkers and activists.
