The Agropolis Foundation supports foreign young scientists and senior researchers coming to France for a minimum of 4 months to work within a unit of the network. The exchange program is designed to generate proposals addressing agriculture and climate change, the sustainable use of biodiversity within an agricultural context, and responsible production and consumption. The lead proponent should be from one of the research units belonging to the Foundation’s scientific network. A maximum of €30 thousand can be requested per applicant. Collaborate Pacific aims to support effective governance, leadership, regional cooperation, and sustainable development in the Pacific. The fund supports small-scale activities in thematic priority areas: Agriculture, Climate Change, Oceans and Fisheries, Renewable Energy, and many other development priorities. Funding can cover travel (including transport, accommodation, and meals) and event costs (including hosting costs). Global Youth Climate Action Fund — Microgrants 2023
The Global Youth Climate Action Fund (GYCAF) makes microgrants to finance youth-led climate action in communities vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Focus areas include smart agriculture to ensure food sustainability, clean energy for local communities, protecting marine life and mitigating climate catastrophes, and biodiversity conservation. Open Society Foundations — Course in Climate Justice
The Island Innovation Caribbean Climate Justice Leaders Academy is open for applications. The interactive course will run from mid-July 2023 to January 2024. The program aims to build the capacity of young professionals, eligible students, and young community leaders working in the Caribbean region. Participants will receive expert training and capacity building through online training sessions from climate experts. The Climate Resiliency Challenge seeks organizations and teams across the globe to develop solutions that will empower frontline communities to be ready and resilient against disasters caused by climate change – in particular, wildfires, floods, and extreme weather. Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate — Grant Program
The Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate (GCBC) funds research into natural solutions to climate change and poverty. The GCBC makes grants that fund research into how the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity can help address climate change and improve livelihoods of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. Inter-American Development Bank — Climate Change and its Nexus with Gender and Diversity
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) seeks research proposals that contribute to measuring and evaluating solutions for addressing climate change and promoting an inclusive transition to a greener economy. The initiative seeks to advance knowledge development regarding the existing inequalities between men and women, as well as inequalities faced by Indigenous Peoples, people of African descent, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ people. The fourth edition of this call focuses on the topic of climate change and its nexus with gender and diversity. Funding may range from US$20 thousand to US$100 thousand. International Development Research Centre — Regional Research Networks
The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) announces a call for full proposals for the selection of regional research hubs to advance skills and policies for an inclusive and sustainable future of work. This initiative supports high-quality, innovative and gender responsive research that addresses key Future of Work challenges, including climate-resilient food systems. Regional research hubs can submit budget requests of up to a maximum of CA$1.7 million. IDRC is expecting to fund 5 regional research hubs in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA and LAC. The Climate and Clean Air Coalition launches a call for opportunities to advance national policy and planning to reduce short-lived climate pollutants in 23 countries.
