Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) seeks business owners and entrepreneurs in the Middle East and Northern Africa region who have innovative water-food, energy-food, and water-energy-food solutions. Individual awards for innovators are expected to range from US$25 thousand to US$250 thousand, depending on the type of funding requested. EnAccess Foundation — Innovations for Energy Access

The EnAccess Foundation funds Innovation Pilot projects and Moonshot concepts focusing on providing energy access. EnAccess provides up to US$250 thousand for projects that are ready to be built and prototyped (e.g., hardware, software, business models) and US$50 thousand for ambitious research ideas in the conceptual stage (e.g., analysis and modeling). Eligibility extends to start-ups, companies, non-profits, individual innovators, investors, and researchers. Moonshot concepts and Innovation Pilot proposals can be submitted anytime. Energy Access

U.S. African Development Foundation — Agricultural Cooperatives in Zimbabwe

The U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF) invites proposals for grant financing and local support for innovative solutions that improve farmer incomes and achieve sustainable market-based growth. Proposals will be accepted from registered agricultural cooperatives, producer groups, youth-led enterprises, and small- and medium-sized enterprises in Zimbabwe. The U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF) , invites applications for grant financing and local support from enterprises, cooperatives, and producer groups. Proposals will be accepted from registered agricultural cooperatives, producer groups, youth-led enterprises, and small- and medium-sized enterprises in Uganda. Grant awards are up to US$40 thousand. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement USAID Nepali Women in Business. Eligibility for this award is limited to local organizations. The total estimated amount is anticipated at US$9.5 million. United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change — Water Changemaker Awards 2023

Water Changemaker Awards is a global initiative that aims to recognize high-level commitment and leadership for climate resilient water investments to support a water-secure world. The initiative promotes the most promising climate resilient innovations to enable them to access new and innovative finance sources. Selected Water Changemakers will receive technical assistance and seed funding to scale up their innovations. Entities are eligible if they have been operating for at least one year. U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation — Conservation of Sea Turtles 2024

The U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) requests proposals that seek to improve the recovery and conservation of sea turtle populations. The majority of projects will take place in the Western Hemisphere: leatherbacks and loggerheads in the Northwest Atlantic, and leatherbacks and hawksbills in the Eastern Pacific. In 2024, the NFWF Sea Turtles Program will also award support to permitted U.S. organizations in providing sea turtle stranding response and/or rehabilitation in the United States and U.S. Territories. The RFP will award up to US$1 million, however, the majority of awards will fall in the range of US$50 thousand to US$250 thousand. A minimum of a 1:1 match of cash and/or in-kind services is required. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, government agencies, Indian tribes, educational institutions, businesses, and individuals. The deadline for pre-proposals is 07 September 2023.
