Earth Institute — Post-Doctoral Fellowships 2024
The Earth Institute at Columbia University invites applications for 2-year postdoctoral fellowships that contribute to understanding critical scientific and social issues in global sustainable development. Specific areas of research include food security, energy systems, climate change, poverty reduction, disease, and environmental degradation. The multi-disciplinary program is open to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens who received their doctoral degrees within five years of beginning their appointments. MDPI — Remote Sensing Travel Award 2024
MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access journals, invites applications for the 2024 Remote Sensing Travel Awards. Remote Sensing will make two awards of CHF800 each to two selected PhD students to present an oral presentation and/or poster at an international conference in 2024. Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation — Science without Borders Challenge 2024
The Science Without Borders (SWB) Challenge is an international student art competition. The theme for this year’s challenge is “Hidden Wonders of the Deep.” Students are asked to use their artistic talents to create a piece of art that highlights the beauty and importance of a marine species that is on the brink of extinction. The SWB Challenge is open to primary and secondary school students (aged 11-19 years) from all around the world. The winners will receive scholarships of up to US$500. The deadline is 04 March 2024. The Joke Waller-Hunter (JWH) Initiative offers grants to advance the leadership of young individuals working for or affiliated with environmental civil society organizations in developing and emerging countries. UK Government — Darwin Initiative Grants
The Darwin Initiative invites applications for proposals that deliver effective and successful biodiversity conservation as well as poverty reduction projects. Darwin Initiative Capability & Capacity projects may request between £50 thousand to £200 thousand for projects that focus on developing the capability and capacity of national and local organizations. Innovation projects ranging from £10 thousand to £200 thousand must test a novel approach that if proven could scale to deliver results for biodiversity conservation. Velux Stiftung — Sustainable and Integrative Forest Management
Velux Stiftung seeks solutions for adapting to or mitigating climate change, promoting biodiversity, providing resilient ecosystems services while supplying sustainable forest products. Proposals can be for an implementation-oriented research project that has a high potential to foster change in practice. Projects dealing with all types of forests: boreal, temperate, tropical and subtropical forests are welcome. Projects may last from 1 to 4 years. Whitley Fund for Nature — Whitley Awards 2024
The Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) offers the Whitley Awards to outstanding biodiversity conservation leaders in developing countries around the world. The awards are both an international prize and a form of project funding, currently £40 thousand over one year. Embassy of France to the Philippines — Support for local NGOs
The Embassy of France supports local organizations and calls for the submission of project proposals. The project can be related to environmental issues or other issues, as long as they benefit disadvantaged communities or social groups. This year, two grants of PHP300 thousand and PHP100 thousand will be awarded. Eligibility extends to locally recognized organizations, associated with the activities collectively implemented by the network of Franco-Philippine’s associations.
