The competition engages students in the fight against climate change. The winning solution will be awarded US$10 thousand in prize money for further development and implementation. University of Delaware — Diamond Challenge for High School Entrepreneurs
The Diamond Challenge seeks social innovations that solve a social problem and make a positive impact on people or the environment. Teams must consist of 2-4 high school students typically between 14-18 years of age and have one adult advisor (21 years of age or older). The winners will receive a prize package worth over US$13 thousand. Finalists receive access to our Diamond Challenge Summit, automatic entry into our summer accelerator and accelerator scholarships. Milken Institute and Motsepe Foundation — Prize in Green Energy
The Milken-Motsepe Prize in Green Energy is a global competition to reward entrepreneurs and innovators working to address the most pressing and immediate challenges related to access to green, renewable energy. Registration is free and open to anyone, with a US$1 million grand prize available for the winning team, and US$1 million in additional prizes. Teams from anywhere in the world can register and submit designs and business models. An independent panel of expert judges will select semi-finalist teams to receive US$20 thousand each. The Commonwealth Secretary-General — Global Ocean Competition
The Commonwealth Secretary-General and the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN) launch a global competition to inspire young people to take action on oceans. The Youth Action Challenge will award three young activists with £1,000 each for their work towards the realization of conserving and sustainably using oceans, seas and marine resources. Bristol Myers Squibb — Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production)
The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 12 seeks to reduce waste and the release of toxins into the environment which will ultimately improve health outcomes. Projects should focus on the link between waste and health, recycling or reuse programs for individuals or companies, or preventing food waste and food loss. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from a team of Bristol Myers Squibb professionals and partners. The application deadline is 31 January 2023. Letten Foundation — Prize for Young Researchers
The Letten Prize is an international prize for young researchers (under the age of 45) that conduct research aimed at addressing global challenges within the fields of health, development, environment and equality in all aspects of human life. The winner is awarded 2,5 million NOK (ca. US$235 thousand) to be used for research activities. The prize is open to researchers from all around the world. The Women’s World Summit Foundation (WWSF) invites nominations for its annual Prize for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life. The prize honors women’s groups for exceptional creativity, courage, and commitment to improve the quality of life in rural communities. Each year, between 5-10 winners receive a cash prize of US$1,000. Nominations include biographical data about the nominee; at least two endorsement letters; and labeled photos. The AgriPitch Competition is a two-week-long business development program on strategic partnerships for agriculture projects. Participating agripreneurs will receive follow-up mentorship and coaching for a period of six months. The program offers total grant funding of US$140 thousand.
