The EDGE of Existence Program provides fellowships for two-year projects in research and conservation of EDGE (Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered) mammals, amphibians, corals, and birds. The program is open to early-career conservation biologists who are nationals or residents of the country in which the EDGE species occur. EDGE Fellows receive a grant of up to £10 thousand; an opportunity to attend two regional training courses and to undertake online modules in relevant topics; and one-to-one support from a scientific advisor. Canon — Social and Environmental Community Support
Canon supports schools, non-profit, and community groups who are addressing both social and environmental issues in their community and inspiring change for future generations throughout Oceania. The Canon Oceania Grants Program supports individuals and organizations. NDN Collective — Community Self-Determination
The Community Self-Determination grant program invests in the self-determination of Indigenous people working in their community. Applicants are encouraged to describe their community self-determination efforts within one of the following strategic focus areas that are best suited for their intentions and goals (e.g., climate justice work, clean energy initiatives, access to clean water, etc.). Grants of US$20 thousand per year, with a commitment of two years. The geographical focus is Turtle Island (Island Nations of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as Canada and Mexico). New Energy Nexus — Women-led Climate Startups
She Wins Climate aims at accelerating women-led climate startups and increasing their access to climate investment. The 12-month program is designed to help women climate entrepreneurs in the region to lead the transformation of climate action. Eligible startups must be legally registered, operating for at least one year, and based in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam. SEAMEO — Education for Sustainable Development
The SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development Award invites public and private schools across Southeast Asia to showcase initiatives that enhance community resilience through local wisdom in disaster risk reduction. The first prize includes US$1,000 and a study tour to Japan for selected students and teachers. Second and third prizes are US$600 and US$400, respectively. Allianz Global Investors — Illustration Competition
The “Art on Climate” International Illustration Competition invites illustrators to create artworks that address the theme of climate change. The goal is to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and solutions to tackle climate change. Prizes range from €2,000 to €150. Any person aged 18 or above is eligible to participate. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in the ASEAN region. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects). The average contribution is C$20 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations.
