The Ramsar Small Grants Fund for Wetland Conservation and Wise Use (SGF) assists developing countries to enable the conservation and wise use of wetland resources. The SGF offers a maximum of CHF 35 thousand per project. Eligibility for the awards extends to individuals and groups worldwide representing government institutions, NGOs, community groups, and private companies. UK Natural Environment Research Council — Understanding Risk Caribbean
Young professionals with passion for risk communication are invited to apply for the Pressure Cooker event on Risk Communication at the 2019 Understanding Risk Caribbean Forum in Barbados, May/June 2019. Up to 20 professionals and students from all around the world will test their innovative, creative, scientific and technological skills to co-develop risk communication solutions to real world problems facing local decision makers. International Marine Conservation Congress — Diversity Travel Grants
The International Marine Conservation Congress and Society for Conservation Biology Marine Section offer Diversity Travel Grants for delegates from developing countries (as defined by the World Bank). The Diversity Travel Grants will help offset some of the costs for qualifying delegates to present at the SCB Marine Section’s 29th International Congress for Conservation Biology (IMCC 2019) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21-25 July 2019. The Andrew E. Rice Award for Leadership and Innovation recognizes the achievements of an exceptional young professional working in the field of international development. Past winners include field research on agriculture strategies and the creation of low-cost digital games that inspire social change. Candidates must be between 22 to 32 years old and have at least two years of experience in international development in developing countries. The winner will receive US$1,000. Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey — Research Fellowships 2019
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) awards research fellowships to international highly qualified PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens who are age 35 or younger. Preference is for candidates who have the potential to contribute to Turkey’s international cooperation in scientific and technological development. The fields of research collaboration include agricultural sciences, among others. The research fellowship provides a monthly stipend of 2,500 Turkish Liras, plus travel and health insurance. IUCN announces the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest – My Place in Nature. The contest is open to all photographers and aspiring photographers worldwide. Participants are invited to share their story on ecosystems and show their very own place in nature. Winners will be announced on IUCN Red List of Ecosystems social media and exhibited at the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Global Forest Watch — Technology Fellowship 2019
Global Forest Watch (GFW) is an interactive online forest monitoring and alert system designed to empower people with the information they need to better manage and conserve forest landscapes. GFW invites applications for its Technology Fellowship. Through the program, GFW seeks innovators, journalists, conservationists, campaigners, law enforcement officers, scientists, and indigenous leaders who are committed to expanding their forest monitoring experience and sharing this knowledge. Selected Fellows will participate in regular online meetings, trainings and receive a stipend of US$6 thousand. The Grassroots Justice Prize recognizes grassroots institutions across the globe that are working to put the power of law into people’s hands. Three awards, each of US$10 thousand, are available to non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and public institutions that focus on legal empowerment to tackle poverty, injustice, or other social problems. International Institute of Education — Indigenous Biocultural Exchange Fund
The Indigenous Biocultural Exchange Fund provides up to US$5 thousand to indigenous individuals to attend global biocultural exchanges or meetings which impact the applicant’s home territory or region. Applicants must be indigenous or members of a local indigenous community. Additional preference will be given to women and youth. The fund is especially for, but not limited to, indigenous individuals in the following regions: African Rift Valley, Central Asia & Turkey, Southwest U.S. & Northern Mexico, Northern Australia, and Melanesia.
