Right Livelihood Award — Annual Nominations 2025

The Right Livelihood Awards are annually made to individuals and organizations offering practical and exemplary answers to the most urgent challenges facing us today. The Award is sometimes referred to as the “Alternative Nobel Prize.” Past laureates include several whose work in issues of environment and natural resources advances social justice and grassroots development in the developing world. Normally, the Foundation makes three cash awards and one honorary award each year. P4G — Green Growth and Sustainability

The P4G Partnership Fund provides financial support and targeted assistance to public-private partnerships that implement strategies to achieve the following five Sustainable Development Goals: Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture; Water and Sanitation; Clean Energy; Sustainable Cities; and Sustainable Consumption. P4G partnerships will receive grants of US$350 thousand on average. Projects have to be implemented in Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, South Africa or Vietnam. Eligibility extends to partnerships of at least one early-stage business and one nonprofit organization. The deadline for submission of projects is 07 March 2025. P4G Partnership Fund

European Climate Initiative — Transboundary Climate Action in Europe

The European Climate Initiative (EUKI) calls for project ideas for transboundary climate action in Europe. Projects may propose forward-looking ideas in the areas of climate policy, energy, buildings and municipalities, mobility, agriculture, soils and forestry, awareness, climate-aligned finance, or sustainable economy. Financing of between €50 thousand and €1 million may be provided for each project. EUKI supports climate projects in EU member states, with a regional focus on Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe as well as the Baltic states. Non-profit organizations from EU accession candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey) may apply for financing as implementing partners. International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology — Research Fellowships 2025

The Arturo Falaschi Fellowships Program offers long and short-term fellowships to assist in the training of scientists from ICGEB’s member states, including many developing countries. The fellowships are for research at collaborating universities in the UK, Italy, India, and South Africa. The closing date for applications is 31 March 2025. More about the Fellowships

Lutfia Rabbani Foundation — PhD and Master’s Scholarship for the Arab World

The Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship is intended for Arab Students interested in pursuing their education in The Netherlands. A maximum of €15 thousand is awarded for one year. Eligible fields of study include Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, Environmental Sciences, Natural sciences, and others. Arab students who have been accepted into a Master’s or a Ph.D. program in the Netherlands and Dutch students who have been accepted into a Master’s or a Ph.D. program in the Arab World are eligible to apply. Future Food Asia — Future Food Asia Award 2025

Future Food Asia invites nominations for the Future Food Asia Award 2025. The Future Food Asia Award aims to recognize the leading start-ups in the domain of AgriTech and FoodTech across Asia Pacific. The award is an opportunity to gain exposure to investors, corporates, industry leaders, mentors and media. The grand prize winner will receive US$100 thousand in funding. United Nations — Local Pathways Fellowship

The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth) recruits participants for its 2025 cohort of the Local Pathways Fellows. The 10-months fellowship program provides young leaders with a platform, capacity building, training opportunities and contacts of leading development experts and practitioners. The Local Pathways Fellowship is unpaid. Fellows will benefit from global visibility and exposure. Young candidates (18-30 years) working towards achieving any of the Sustainable Development Goals and representing any city or country in the world are encouraged to apply. Tadamon — Food Security Accelerator

The Tadamon Accelerator for Food Security with a focus on community-based organizations, tech-driven CSOs, and social enterprises addresses growing food insecurity due to climate change through innovative and impactful solutions. Tadamon invites businesses operating in Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Chad, Djibouti, Libya, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, the State of Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, or Yemen to join and further develop innovative solutions to create a more secure and resilient future with sustainable food access. World Academy of Sciences — Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Brazil

In partnership with the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Brazil’s National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) invites young scientists from developing countries other than Brazil to pursue postdoctoral research in natural sciences at selected Brazilian research institutions for periods of 6-12 months. Subject areas include agricultural sciences, biological sciences, and many others. CNPq will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs such as accommodation, food, and health insurance. The application deadline is 31 January 2025. Link

Tony Elumelu Foundation — Entrepreneurship Program for Africans 2025

The Tony Elumelu Foundation fosters and supports start-up enterprises in Africa. The TEF Entrepreneurship Program provides mentoring, training, forums, seed capital, and alumni support to individuals in Africa proposing new business ideas or early-stage companies in sectors that include agriculture, among others. Participants receive up to US$5 thousand in seed capital. The program is open to citizens and legal residents ages 18 and older in any African country.
