The African Postdoctoral Training Initiative (APTI) supports early-career African scientists who wish to become scientific leaders in their community. APTI makes 4-year postdoctoral fellowships where Fellows are placed in various laboratories for 2 years before returning to their home institutions in Africa for another 2 years of research. Applicants must be citizens of an African country and currently employed in an academic, research, or government position. The fellowship provides salary support of up to US$38 per year, research support of up to US$50 thousand per year, and equipment purchase support of up to US$50 thousand. OYSTER is an independent working group dedicated to promoting and supporting opportunities for young researchers in marine science. EuroMarine offers a grant of €7,500 to early-career researchers from EuroMarine full member organizations to undertake an original and collaborative research project. The Graduate Degree Fellowship provides funding for graduate students from Asia, the Pacific, and the United States to participate in capacity building and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i. The fellowship covers the cost of tuition and fees, books, and housing. Eligibility extends to citizens or permanent residents of the United States, Asia, and countries in the Pacific region (including Russia). MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access journals, invites nominations for the Water 2023 Young Investigator Award. The winner will receive CHF 2000. This prize will be given to two young investigators in recognition of their excellence in the field of all aspects of water, including water science, technology, management, and governance. The Takagi Fund for Citizen Science invites grant applications from groups and individuals in Asia pursuing “Citizen Science”. Research Grants may cover research and travel expenses, printing, as well as workshops or symposia to communicate research findings to the public. Training Grants are to support an individual receiving training at educational institutions, NGOs, research institutes and can be used to cover travel, accommodation, tuition or related costs. Finduddannelse.dk is a Danish platform for lifelong learning. The platform offers a scholarship to a student for masters studies. The applicant must have been accepted to a masters program and aim to make the world more sustainable through their studies , for example, through clean energy, biology, sustainable agriculture, or any other relevant field. The scholarship offers up to €5000 to help cover tuition fees. Applicants from all around the world are welcome, however, candidates must be fluent in English or Danish. The Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility aims to strengthen indigenous peoples’ communities and their organizations by financing small projects which foster their self-driven development in the framework of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Focus is climate change adaptation, resilience and biodiversity in/for indigenous peoples’ communities to improve indigenous livelihoods. Proposed project budget requests should range between US$20 thousand and US$70 thousand, and include a minimum contribution by the grant recipient of 20% (cash or in-kind) of the total request. The British Academy’s Visiting Fellowships program provides outstanding academics based in any country overseas with the opportunity to be based at a UK higher education or other research institution. Visiting Fellows will work with colleagues at host UK institutions in order to develop new research collaborations and/or deepen existing partnerships. The Georg Forster Research Award supports the work of accomplished researchers who are expected to continue to develop research-based solutions to specific challenges facing transition and developing countries. Nominees must be nationals of a developing or transition country, excluding the People’s Republic of China and India. The award amount is €60 thousand. Additionally, award winners are invited to conduct a research project of their own choosing in Germany in close collaboration with a specialist colleague. To support the collaboration, the Foundation may grant additional funding of up to €25 thousand. The U.S. Mission New Zealand announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting proposals to organize a comprehensive small grants program with training workshops for emerging leaders in the Pacific region.
