The Norwegian University of Life Sciences seeks candidates for a three-year PhD-position in International Environment and Development Studies with focus on Finance and Rural Development. The university welcomes research proposals by applicants undertaking case study, comparative, or conceptual inquiries into financial logics, practices, instruments and programs for specific agriculture, conservation, forestry, or other rural-centered resource sectors. The U.S. Mission to Indonesia seeks a local partner to organize and host the annual Indonesia Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Summit 2023. The award recipient will be responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the youth-focused summit to take place in-person in Jakarta or Bali, in December 2023. Funding of up to US$750 thousand is available. Eligible Applicants are U.S.-based, Indonesia-based, and foreign non-profit organizations or institutions of higher education. The U.S. Embassy Morocco announces an open grant competition to award a cooperative agreement to organize a Women in STEM Mentorship Program. The program will foster a community of women in STEM and will provide a platform for young women to connect with each other. Funding of up to US$70 thousand is available for the implementation of the program. The Embassy invites proposals from established Moroccan associations, committed, and organized civil-society organizations. The closing date for applications is 24 April 2023. Link

The EU-Vietnam Women-led Green Partnership Program seeks to support women to influence decision-making processes on climate change and environmental conservation policies and actions in Vietnam. Proposals should mainly target improving access to decent jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities in the green economy and the circular economy for women and girls. Proposed actions will be financed with up to €5 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit civil society organizations established in a Member State of the European Union or in Vietnam. The Green Changemakers Challenge is a global innovation competition for social entrepreneurs in selected markets with ventures that equip individuals and communities with the skills needed to thrive in the transition to a green economy. The challenge seeks social entrepreneurs with ventures that solve the climate crisis along with social problems. The Green Skills Innovation Challenge will award social entrepreneurs with up to US$25 thousand of grant funding. Applications have to be submitted before 26 April 2023. Green Changemakers Challenge

UNESCO launches the ‘Silk Roads Youth Research Grant’. The program aims to mobilize young researchers for further study of the Silk Roads shared heritage, and will award 12 research grants to young researchers under 35 years of age. Grant applicants are invited to address areas of academic study which relate to the shared heritage and plural identities of the Silk Roads, including, but not limited to Science and Technology (however, proposed projects must focus on the results of cultural interactions and exchanges). The proposed research may be carried out by an individual researcher or may be part of a group or collaborative project. UNESCO will award 12 grants of US$10 thousand. The Governments of India and Australia invite joint research projects by researchers of both countries. The aim is to encourage scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries. Proposals for joint research in renewable energy are eligible. The fund will cover research expenses, exchange of visits for research projects, and workshops. The Australian Government supports small-scale sustainable development projects and activities in the fields of agriculture; water and sanitation; and others. The Direct Aid Program will support activities for sustainable community development in Micronesia, Palau, and the Marshall Islands. The maximum funding limit is US$20 per project for 12 months. The School Enterprise Challenge is an international business program for schools run by the educational charity Teach A Man To Fish. It guides and supports teachers and students to plan and set up real, sustainable school businesses and generate real profits to help support their school or a social cause of their choice. Thematic areas include agriculture, drinking water and sanitation, and the environment, among others. Prizes are between US$250 and US$5 thousand, including in-kind donations like laptops and cameras. Please note that only pre-primary schools, primary schools, secondary schools and technical/vocational colleges are eligible (universities are not eligible to apply).
