The NEF Research Grants support academic and scientific research that will deepen knowledge of nature conservation in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Applicants should be nationals of Asian-Pacific countries, and research projects should be carried out in their home countries. Grants are a maximum of ¥500 thousand for a maximum of two years. The Coral Research & Development Accelerator Program (CORDAP) offers two MSc scholarships designed for Tanzanian citizens, focusing on the restoration of the coral reefs. Candidates will conduct scientific investigations to assess fish colonization patterns, focusing on metrics such as fish abundance, diversity, and trophic composition. The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) announces the Innovative Climate with-Biodiversity Positive Program. IUCN seeks Nature-and-Climate-positive projects with on-the-ground restoration activities, including community development and activities. The Facility provides grants ranging from € 750 thousand to € 1.5 million. Applications are accepted from a wide range of organizations involved in the design, development, and implementation of high-quality, scalable nature-based projects for carbon markets, such as NGOs; Indigenous Peoples, and Local Community organisations; forestry and agricultural companies; cooperatives; and others with the relevant expertise. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) announces an in-person fellowship program that will support selected journalists to attend and report from the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3). Fellows will travel to Nice, France to attend the entire duration of the UN Ocean Conference negotiations. EJN will cover economy-class airfare, accommodation, meals, travel medical insurance and ground transportation costs related to fellowship participation. To be eligible for the fellowship, the applicant must be a professional journalist from or representing an established media house and reporting from any country with a coast. The Mongabay Conservation Reporting Fellowship Program supports up to 12 fellows per year. Fellows will gain experience working with a range of editors at international news outlets, develop their environmental reporting skills, and create a portfolio of original publications to help them advance their careers in journalism. Each fellow will receive US$500 a month for the duration of the six-month fellowship (US$3,000 in total). The fellowship is open to anyone from a low- to upper-middle-income tropical country. Restor launches the RestorLife Awards to celebrate and fund the work being done to protect and restore nature. The NGO Award recognizes organizations leading impactful conservation and restoration projects and provides US$25 thousand in prize money. This initiative seeks to honour NGOs that are making remarkable progress in nature restoration and strengthening grassroots efforts. The Responsible Business Leadership Award highlight organizations that have shown exceptional dedication to positive environmental action and responsible business leadership. The On the Edge Fund launches a new grants program that aims to increase conservation attention and raise the profile of Evolutionary Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) species globally. Conservation grants are made to individuals and small organizations working to protect EDGE species or EDGE zones anywhere in the world. Grants of up to £30 thousand will be awarded over a 1 year period. Projects must be centred around EDGE species and focus on local impact and engagement. The application deadline is 01 March 2025. The Zebra Foundation for Veterinary Zoological Education assists veterinary students and veterinary surgeons from anywhere in the world to gain additional experience in veterinary zoological medicine. The program funds seeing practice at an institution specializing in zoological medicine or research projects (laboratory, field, or clinic-based) leading to advances in zoo and wildlife health.
