Government of India — Indo-Poland Joint Research Programme

The Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, invite proposals for joint research projects in the following scientific areas: i) Natural Sciences; ii) Engineering and Technology; iii) Medical and Health Sciences; iv) Agricultural Sciences. The fund will cover research expenses, exchange of visits for research projects, international air travel, and the cost of furnished accommodation for approved research visits. Canadian International Development Research Center — Women’s Participation in Science

The IDRC aims to increase the participation of women and other underrepresented groups in STEM fields by eliminating or reducing systemic barriers. The available budget per grant is between CA$200 thousand and CA$500 thousand. This call is open to research institutions, consortia, or non-governmental organizations with a strong presence in eligible low and middle-income countries. UK Natural Environment Research Council — The Role of the Southern Ocean in Climate Change

The aim of this Research Programme is to provide the scientific basis to inform international climate policy of the role of the Southern Ocean (SO) carbon system in climate change. Under this call, two proposals will funded at a maximum cost of £325 thousand each. United Nations — Ocean Law Fellowship Programme

The United Nations Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS) and the Nippon Foundation seek applications for a 9-month Fellowship Programme. The Programme seeks to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to assist developing States towards the formulation of comprehensive ocean law and policy. Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa — Capacity Development in Agricultural Research

The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) invites applications for the Agricultural Research and Innovation Fellowship for Africa (ARIFA). Qualified African candidates will be trained in ARIFA-affiliated universities and centers of Agricultural Research for Development (AR4D) in affiliated countries abroad. The fellowship covers international air travel, tuition fees and a monthly stipend. Applicants must be under 35 years old and be citizens of one of the following countries: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Niger, Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda. SEARCA and FSC — Summer School in Agriculture and Food Systems

The Summer School “Transformative Changes in Agriculture and Food Systems”, jointly organized by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and the Food Security Center (FSC) of the University of Hohenheim in Germany, will take place in Laguna, Philippines (9-27 September 2019). The FSC will offer up to 16 scholarships for PhD students from Africa, Asia, and Latin America to participate in the course. The Professional Training Scheme provides a variety of specialized learning opportunities to practitioners in South Asia. The EDF Pulse Africa Awards is open to start-ups, micro-enterprises and small businesses in Africa that develop solutions in the field of energy. The contest invites applications in three categories: (1) Off-grid electrical production; (2) Electrical uses and services; and (3) Access to water – innovative solution to improve access to water through electricity. In order to be eligible, applicants must have a prototype by 21 November 2019, allowing the demonstration of the proposed solution to the general public.
