ETH Zurich — Consolidation Grants

ETH Consolidation Grants provide grants up to CHF50 thousand to strengthen existing research collaborations. Consolidation Grants aim to encourage more advanced, solid projects between Switzerland and East Asia or the Southeast Asia region. The main applicant has to be a postdoctoral researcher, senior scientist, or professor of a Swiss federal and cantonal university. Applications are open until 15 June 2024. ETH Consolidation Grants

Ashoka — Together Towards Tomorrow Challenge

The Together Towards Tomorrow Challenge invites changemakers worldwide with initiatives that unite people across generations to activate young people as leaders. Up to 12 winners will receive up to US$25 thousand. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Direct Assistance in Sustainable Forestry

The EU’s Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan includes grants of technical assistance to benefit government institutions and private-sector organizations. Projects need to address the identified themes in FLEGT. Currently, requests can be submitted from entities in VPA countries and non-VPA countries. The VPA countries are Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Liberia, Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Guyana, and Honduras. Grants are up to US$55 thousand. Eligibility extends to government institutions and non-profit organizations. Applications (English, French, Spanish) can be submitted at any time. More about FLEGT

Save Our Seas Foundation — Keystone Grants 2024

The Save Our Seas Foundation funds and supports marine and ocean research, conservation, and education projects worldwide. Projects have to focus on charismatic threatened wildlife and their habitats, with a particular concern for marine chondrichthyan species (sharks, rays, skates, sawfishes, and chimaeras). The usual project duration is limited to three years with a grant average of US$25 thousand per year. The next application period (Stage I) is 03 May 2024. Keystone Grants

UNESCO — Designated Sites in Europe and North America

The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe launches a call for applications for UNESCO-designated sites in Europe and North America. Eligible UNESCO sites are Biosphere Reserves, Global Geoparks, and Natural and Mixed World Heritage sites. Each selected site will receive funding to implement activities for a total amount of up to US$ 25 thousand per site. The application deadline is 09 May 2024. UNESCO

German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy — Women in Wind

The Women in Wind Global Leadership Program aims to advance the role of women in driving the energy transition and promote best practices within the wind industry. Applicants are citizens from China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Philippines, Senegal, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, or Vietnam. Successful applicants will be matched with mentors and participate in a comprehensive program from June 2024 to February 2025. The application deadline is 10 May 2024. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The average contribution is C$35 thousand to C$45 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. Schneider Electric Foundation — Youth Innovation for a Sustainable Future Program

The Schneider Electric Foundation launches the Youth Innovation for a Sustainable Future Program which aspires to select the most impactful and innovative 25 youth projects across 5 continents. The program is designed for organizations whose main mission is a social purpose, existing for more than a year. In each continent, the best project will receive €30 thousand. One project will receive a special prize of “Youth Innovation Champion” of €50 thousand in total at the occasion of the COP29 in November 2024. The application deadline is 19 May 2024. Details here

International Water Association — Digital Water Summit 2024

The International Water Association (IWA) announces the third edition of its Digital Water Summit, which will take place on 12-14 November 2024 in Bilbao, Spain. The call for content seeks industry pioneers and technology providers to submit proposals indicating the type of presentation they would like to deliver. African Development Bank — Innovators Program

The AfriCircular Innovators Program supports young entrepreneurs by providing extensive support tailored to startups in the circular economy sector. Selected entrepreneurs receive grant funding for market exploration and product development. The program is designed for entrepreneurs who are at the early stage of their entrepreneurial journey.
