Norwegian University of Life Sciences — Finance and Rural Development

The Norwegian University of Life Sciences seeks candidates for a three-year PhD-position in International Environment and Development Studies with focus on Finance and Rural Development. The university welcomes research proposals by applicants undertaking case study, comparative, or conceptual inquiries into financial logics, practices, instruments and programs for specific agriculture, conservation, forestry, or other rural-centered resource sectors. U.S. Mission to Indonesia — Summit for Young Leaders in Southeast Asia

The U.S. Mission to Indonesia seeks a local partner to organize and host the annual Indonesia Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Summit 2023. The award recipient will be responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the youth-focused summit to take place in-person in Jakarta or Bali, in December 2023. Funding of up to US$750 thousand is available. Eligible Applicants are U.S.-based, Indonesia-based, and foreign non-profit organizations or institutions of higher education. U.S. Embassy Morocco — Women in STEM Mentorship Program

The U.S. Embassy Morocco announces an open grant competition to award a cooperative agreement to organize a Women in STEM Mentorship Program. The program will foster a community of women in STEM and will provide a platform for young women to connect with each other. Funding of up to US$70 thousand is available for the implementation of the program. The Embassy invites proposals from established Moroccan associations, committed, and organized civil-society organizations. The closing date for applications is 24 April 2023. Link

European Commission — Women-led Green Partnership Program

The EU-Vietnam Women-led Green Partnership Program seeks to support women to influence decision-making processes on climate change and environmental conservation policies and actions in Vietnam. Proposals should mainly target improving access to decent jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities in the green economy and the circular economy for women and girls. Proposed actions will be financed with up to €5 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit civil society organizations established in a Member State of the European Union or in Vietnam. Ashoka and HSBC — Green Changemakers Challenge

The Green Changemakers Challenge is a global innovation competition for social entrepreneurs in selected markets with ventures that equip individuals and communities with the skills needed to thrive in the transition to a green economy. The challenge seeks social entrepreneurs with ventures that solve the climate crisis along with social problems. The Green Skills Innovation Challenge will award social entrepreneurs with up to US$25 thousand of grant funding. Applications have to be submitted before 26 April 2023. Green Changemakers Challenge

International Elephant Foundation — Elephant Conservation and Research 2024

The International Elephant Foundation makes grants for conservation and research of elephants. Eligibility extends to organizations and individuals internationally — including students, scientists, and institutions. The Foundation supports in situ or ex situ conservation of African or Asian elephants or their habitats. Most awards are about US$10 thousand for one year. IUCN and UNEP — Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation

The Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Fund supports scaling up innovative approaches to ecosystem-based adaptation to increase the resilience of communities against the impacts of climate change. The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the critical role of natural assets in underpinning resilience and expand the knowledge base to help make the case for working with people and nature. The fund is open for contributions of US$50 thousand to US$250 thousand, with no specified country focus. The maximum project duration is 36 months. EUROPARC Federation — Study Visits at Protected Areas in Europe and Eurasia

The EUROPARC Federation partners with the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung to promote international cooperation within the European dimension of protected area management. Grants of €3 thousand allow young conservationists to make study visits to one or more protected areas external to their home countries. The study visits should correspond to any of the five themes identified in the announcement. In addition to western Europe, participating countries include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Association of Commonwealth Universities — Higher Education and SDGs Grants

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) accepts applications for the Higher Education and the SDGs Challenge Grants to fund collaborative work around the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The grants are open to professional and academic staff at ACU member universities. Four grants of £2,500 are available. Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with member universities to promote further Commonwealth partnerships, or other organizations such as local governments. The closing date is 02 May 2023. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization — Silk Roads Youth Research Grant

UNESCO launches the ‘Silk Roads Youth Research Grant’. The program aims to mobilize young researchers for further study of the Silk Roads shared heritage, and will award 12 research grants to young researchers under 35 years of age. Grant applicants are invited to address areas of academic study which relate to the shared heritage and plural identities of the Silk Roads, including, but not limited to Science and Technology (however, proposed projects must focus on the results of cultural interactions and exchanges). The proposed research may be carried out by an individual researcher or may be part of a group or collaborative project. UNESCO will award 12 grants of US$10 thousand.
