Connect4Climate — Climate Ambassador Program

Connect4Climate invites young professionals to apply to the 2023 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program (MTECAP). The MTECAP is a six-month online program that offers a mix of technical and hands-on sessions providing young ambassadors with in-depth knowledge to implement meaningful climate action both in their communities and globally. Global Landscapes Forum — Social Media Ambassadors

The Global Landscapes Forum launches a call for young voices from all over the world to become GLF Social Media Ambassadors for 2023. The volunteer program offers free tickets and a behind-the-scenes look at all GLF and partner events, social media workshops and learning programs and a personalized certificate. Participants must be between 18 and 35 years old and need basic knowledge of English. The application period ends on 31 December 2023. GLF Social Media Ambassadors

OPEC Fund for International Development — Grants

The OPEC Fund provides financial assistance to developing countries, particularly low-income countries, in support of their economic and social development efforts. OPEC will consider requests for (i) grants for country-specific activities and projects; (ii) grants for special development initiatives of global or regional scope; and (iii) emergency aid. In the past, the OPEC Fund has financed projects in agriculture, energy, health, transportation and water and sanitation sectors. The amount of the contribution will vary according to the scope and the nature of the proposed activity. However, with the exception of emergency aid and small grants in amounts of up to US$100 thousand, OPEC’s contribution should not exceed 50% of the total cost. Eligible partners are any government or non-government entity, including co-financing partners, private sector entities, research entities, UN agencies and international NGOs. There is no deadline. The Commonwealth Secretary-General — Global Ocean Competition

The Commonwealth Secretary-General and the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN) launch a global competition to inspire young people to take action on oceans. The Youth Action Challenge will award three young activists with £1,000 each for their work towards the realization of conserving and sustainably using oceans, seas and marine resources. Applicants must be aged 18-30, and come from a Commonwealth country, to enter. The competition closes on 08 December 2022. Learn more

Bristol Myers Squibb — Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 12 seeks to reduce waste and the release of toxins into the environment which will ultimately improve health outcomes. Projects should focus on the link between waste and health, recycling or reuse programs for individuals or companies, or preventing food waste and food loss. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from a team of Bristol Myers Squibb professionals and partners. The application deadline is 31 January 2023. Opportunity Desk — Impact Challenge

The OD Impact Challenge seeks to recognize and support the efforts of young people working to bring positive change to their communities. The top three winners will share a cash prize of US$1,000, The opportunity to compete for a seed grant of up US$2,500 and personalized mentoring. The competition is open to young changemakers worldwide. Online applications have to be completed before 25 November 2022. OD Impact Challenge

UN Global Compact — Young SDG Innovators Program

The Young SDG Innovators Program is an accelerator program for future business leaders and changemakers to develop and drive innovative SDG solutions through new technologies, initiatives, and business models. Participants participate in online and in-person workshops, case studies, company visits and forum discussions. Companies based in Brazil, China, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa, Ukraine, United Kingdom or the United States have the opportunity to collaborate with their Global Compact Local Networks to nominate young professionals for the program. UN Global Compact — Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals

The SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals is a nine-month program for business leaders and changemakers to develop and drive innovative sustainable development solutions and business models. The program targets entry- to mid-level managers across diverse businesses. The accelerator is open to business managers from selected countries (listed in the announcement). Campus France — Visiting Fellowship for Young Researchers

The Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) initiative calls for applications from young researchers who wish to carry out their research in France. MOPGA intends to award 40 fellowships for a duration of 12 months with a monthly allowance of €2,500. Eligible  research themes include climate change and energy transition. Foreign researchers must hold a doctoral degree for less than 5 years. Applications must be submitted by 16 January 2023. Link to MOPGA

Rise — Global Talent Program

Rise is a global talent program for young people (ages 15 to 17) from around the world. Each year, Rise will select 100 winners and provide them with need-based financial support for university and internships, mentorship and career services, and access to funding to scale up their social impact throughout their careers. The program is open to any type of young talents, including environmentalists, musicians, artists, performers, product developers, software engineers, researchers, or social or political movement leaders.
