The Japan Science and Technology Agency, in collaboration with the Japan International Collaboration Agency, calls for proposals for the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS). Proposals are invited in the following research fields: environment/energy; bio-resources; and disaster prevention and mitigation. The SATREPS program provides funding of approx. ¥ 100 million per project per year. Researchers external to Japan should consult their national government agency responsible for ODA technical cooperation, the Embassy of Japan, or JICA offices in their resident countries. Royal Society — Entrepreneur in Residence
The Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) scheme aims to increase the knowledge and awareness in UK universities of cutting-edge industrial science, research, and innovation. The scheme provides industrial scientists and entrepreneurs with the opportunity to spend one day a week at a university developing their projects. The EiR awards are for one year. The value of the scheme is up to a maximum of £20 thousand. The scheme is open to applicants of any nationality, who are eligible to work in the UK. Worldwide Universities Network — Research Development Fund
The WUN Research Development Fund (RDF) provides grants of up to £10 thousand for one year to foster research collaborations among academic staff (faculty) at WUN member universities. Applications are open to researchers from WUN member institutions. The RDF supports research projects that fall under the network’s principal research theme of sustainable development. The closing date is 17 October 2025. Belmont Forum — Resilience Collaborative Research Action
The Resilience Collaborative Research Action (CRA) call focuses on transdisciplinary research about vulnerability and resilience management for socio-environmental systems in exposed territories. UN Women offers free online courses across many subject areas through the global online platform for training for gender equality. Courses include the ‘2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Gender Equality’ which is directed to government representatives and public servants, officials from the UN System, international organizations, academics, and the general public. Institute of International Education — Scholar Rescue Fund
The IIE Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) provides fellowships for professors, researchers, and public intellectuals who face threats to their lives and careers in their home countries. Fellows will receive temporary academic positions at institutions of higher learning anywhere in the world where they can continue their work in safety. Professors, senior researchers, and public intellectuals from any country, academic field, or discipline may qualify. Applications from women and members of ethnic, racial, cultural, or religious minority groups, or those otherwise underrepresented in their fields, are especially encouraged. Communication Foundation — Climate Communication Fund
The Climate Communication Fund supports communication and climate action by supporting CSOs in enhancing their communication strategies. The Fund offers grants of up to €10 thousand to increase the communication capacity of climate nonprofits. Eligible organizations are encouraged to propose projects that leverage various communication channels, including digital media, community outreach, and educational programs. Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie — Prize for Young Researchers
The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) recognizes work in Science & Technology and Human & Social Sciences, with a focus on diversity within the Francophone academic community, especially in developing countries. The prize offers grants of €5,000 to support the future research endeavors of the winners. Global Good Fund — Fellowship Program 2026
The Global Good Fund Fellowship is a 12-month leadership development program for young social entrepreneurs who remain in their workplaces. Each fellow is offered mentoring; resources for leadership assessment; a peer network; and financial support. Past fellows represent enterprises for agriculture; environment; solar energy; and other green development. The program is open to applications worldwide. Candidates should be under age 40. Japan Water Forum — Small Grants for Water Projects
The Japan Water Forum makes small grants to grassroots organizations in least-developed countries. Funding is made to projects addressing local water-related issues, including innovative solutions for water and sanitation, risk reduction for water-related disasters, and WASH projects.
