The Jackson Wild Summit Fellowship is a comprehensive program for storytellers to accelerate their project in development through a series of skill-building workshops, networking events, pitching opportunities and mentorship in Austria (September/October 2022). Projects must include a visual media component and can consist of a wide range of topics including but not limited to environmental justice, climate change, conservation, human-wildlife conflict, etc. The Fellowship is open to all storytellers from around the world. Hague Academy for Local Governance — Course on “Multilevel Water Governance”
The Hague Academy for Local Governance invites applications for a practice-oriented blended course on water governance. Participants will receive training and visit several Dutch examples of water projects in order to use this knowledge to develop practical solutions for the challenges they face in their home country. Participants are predominantly funded by their own employer but the program is eligible for Nuffic scholarships, which have a separate application process and deadlines (please check carefully). InfoNile — Workshop: Reporting on Rivers and Biodiversity in the Nile Basin
InfoNile invites applications for training, workshop and mentorship on Reporting on Rivers and Biodiversity in the Nile Basin. The weeklong workshop in Uganda will feature presentations, field trips, discussions, practical sessions, and group activities. Successful journalists will receive transport to Uganda and back to their home country, accommodation including meals for the duration of the workshop, and grants to produce their stories. Reporters and editors from Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are invited to apply. ChangemakerXchange — Climate Action Summit
ChangemakerXchange launches a global intersectional climate action program that supports the world’s leading climate action changemakers and activists from different regions. In 2022, there will be three in-person summits and a follow-up community and capacity-building program in Europe, MENA, and North America. Applicants must come from or be currently living in one of the eligible countries and be aged 18 – 35. Participants are asked to cover their own transportation costs. The Thomson Reuters Foundation invites journalists to participate in a training program on locally-led adaptation to climate change. This training opportunity offers a chance to understand the impact of climate change at a local level, and learn how to better report on the topic and enhance Civil Society Organizations communications to effectively communicate their message to the media. One Young World supports young women working in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Technovators for Social Good Scholarship will sponsor a young leader to attend the One Young World 2022 Summit in Manchester (UK) and enable them to participate in speeches, panels, networking, and workshops. Candidates must be females aged 18 – 30 leading innovative and impactful initiatives to promote access and opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for women. Thought for Food Foundation — Thought For Food Challenge
The Thought for Food Foundation invites innovators and entrepreneurs from all parts of the world to submit locally-relevant solutions that address a wide range of pressing challenges across the food and agriculture value chain. Participants gain access to the TFF Digital Labs, a digital collaboration platform that provides on-demand access to leading industry experts, resources, and interactive experiences. One Grand Prize winner will receive US$30 thousand to use for the purpose of their project. Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK Line seek startups for a startup bootcamp with focus on the clean energy transition and sustainability through decarbonization. The program aims to scout and support promising startups with disruptive technologies and business ideas to solve problems in the energy and resource sectors. During the 3-month accelerator program, selected startups receive hands-on mentorship, seed funding and access to a global network of investors with the ultimate goal of scaling their businesses. SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in Botswana
SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. The World Academy of Sciences — Workshop on Science Diplomacy
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) seek candidates to participate in the training workshop on science diplomacy in Trieste (Italy, July/August 2022). The workshop is designed for young scientists (below the age of 40) living, policymakers and diplomats, research institution administrators and research funders, and representatives from NGOs working at the science-diplomacy interface.
