The SWS Wetland Ambassadors Program is a student research program that provides graduate students with the opportunity to travel to another country and conduct wetland research. A grant of up to US$5 thousand will be awarded by SWS, while hosting institutions may provide for lab costs, meal plans, or room and board during the internship. The applicant must currently be enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. program related to wetland science (e.g. biology, environmental science, environmental engineering, etc.). The “young scientists’ mobility grant” aims to develop new research partnerships and collaborations between Switzerland and MENA countries. Priority countries under this call are: Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. Mobility grants can be awarded to young scientists who hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree (no PhD) and have less than 6 years of professional research experience. The call is open for activities and research visits in all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The applicant’s mobility visit should have a minimum duration of 4 weeks and with a maximum of CHF5 thousand per grant. (Note: The application form must be completed by the Swiss main applicant). EarthCorps — International Program 2019
EarthCorps invites applications from emerging environmental leaders around the world to participate in an environmental service program in the USA. Participants from the USA and other countries take part in field projects such as tree planting, trail construction, stream restoration, and removal of invasive plants. The international Program is a 6-month learning experience for non-U.S. citizens, which takes place in Seattle, Washington, USA. Applicants should be 18-28 years of age, with a university degree in an environmental field (or equivalent work experience), and speak conversational English. International participants receive a living stipend, health insurance, and accommodations with host families. However, each participant is responsible for her/his travel to Seattle, Washington. The IUSSTF invites applications for the Water Advanced Research and Innovation (WARI) Fellowship Program. Selected Indian students and scientists will gain access to the research facilities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Researcher Links Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and a partner country to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. UK and Russian Institutions can request up to £51 thousand to be used towards workshop implementation. All workshops must be held in 2019. American Society for Microbiology — Visiting Research Professorships in Microbiology
American Society for Microbiology (ASM), in partnership with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF), announces the ASM-IUSSTF Indo-US Professorship in Microbiology. Research Council of Norway — Arctic Field Research
The Svalbard Science Forum (SSF) promotes research activities in Svalbard and administrates funding programs to stimulate data collection and inter-disciplinary as well as international cooperation. Students and researchers can apply for arctic field grants and seed money for workshops and collaborative activities. Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum — Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships
The Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships fund Indian participants to gain exposure and access to research facilities in water resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Fellowships of three to twelve months are for Indian scientists holding a PhD in water science and engineering.
