The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers media grants to immigrant, Black, Indigenous and people of color-serving newsrooms and media collectives in the United States and Canada to support innovative, investigative, and/or enterprise reporting projects on environmental or climate change. The International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) seeks applications for its Community Solutions Program (CSP) with the aim to improve communities by addressing issues related to the environment, among others. The Community Solutions Program is a year-long professional development program with a four-month fellowship in the United States. To be eligible, applicants must be between the ages of 26 and 39 (as of 01 January 2025). Eligible countries from Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe, East Asia and the Pacific, South and Central Asia, and Latin America are listed in the announcement. The Global Citizenship Learning Program is a 1.5-year learning program with virtual and in-person activities, and interdisciplinary community projects furthering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Youth Climate Innovation (YCI) Program supports young innovators from developing countries as they develop high-impact climate technology solutions that are both locally relevant and globally adaptable. Participants benefit from mentorship, coaching and access to a network of investors and institutions focused on climate technology. The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) offers an innovative training program for early to mid-career professionals from Germany and African partner countries. The training aims to capacitate professionals to engage in addressing significant global challenges, such as climate change and economic disparity. Participants of the Leadership Academy must be nationals or permanent residents of Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Togo, or Zambia, and work on issues relevant to sustainable development. ProBleu — Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems
The ProBleu funding initiative supports primary and secondary schools as essential champions in educating children and youth about blue sustainability and the safeguarding of marine and freshwater ecosystems. The call is open to primary and secondary-level schools in the EU Member States and associated countries. AGCO Agriculture Foundation — Quality Education, Research and Innovation in Agriculture
The AGCO Agriculture Foundation (AAF) seeks proposals from non-profit organizations and public universities/educational institutions around the world. AAF considers proposals that increase the capacity of farmers, farming communities, young people and/or women, and facilitates access to the tools, training, activities, and support. Grants between US$200 thousand and US$450 thousand are available. Only non-profits and public universities/educational institutions with innovative solutions targeted at increasing the capacity of farmers are eligible to apply for grant funding. University of Pennsylvania — Workshop for Social Entrepreneurs
The Global Social Impact House (GSIH) is a seven-day residential program in Costa Rica (June 2025) that provides social entrepreneurs with the training they need to advance their ventures. Workshops are customized to the needs of fellows. The Center for Social Impact Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania will provide scholarships, which include accommodation and food. The Oxford Climate Journalism Network is a global network for practicing journalists to learn from peers and academics while developing their own expertise and career in climate journalism.
