The University of Nottingham offers scholarships covering £2 thousand towards full-time masters tuition fees for international students from the Commonwealth and other selected countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin (Balkans)
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$30 thousand) in support of biodiversity conservation in the Mediterranean Basin. Funding will be provided in support of sustainable management of water catchments/freshwater biodiversity and cultural landscapes in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. LEAP-RE — Joint Europe-Africa Call on Renewable Energy
The Long-term Europe-Africa Partnership on Renewable Energy (LEAP-RE) program aims to increase the use of renewable energy via research, demonstration, and technology transfer projects in both continents. LEAP-RE funds joint basic research, applied research and experimental development projects with a duration of 12-36 months. The call for proposals is aimed at actors in the renewable energy value chain (including universities, research institutes, companies, private sector, NGOs and public authorities). Cargill — Cargill Global Scholars Program 2021
The agribusiness company Cargill offers scholarships to university students interested in food security, agriculture, and risk management. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia, or the USA — and attend university in those countries. Each Cargill Global Scholar receives an annual scholarship for up to two years, as well as opportunities for leadership training and networking. MarTERA — Transnational Research and Innovation Projects
MarTERA provides funding to collaborative research and innovation projects. The call identifies the following priority areas: (1) environmentally friendly maritime technologies; (2) innovative concepts for ships and offshore structures; (3) automation, sensors, monitoring and observations; (4) advanced manufacturing and production, (5) safety and security. Applicants from Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Malta, Norway, Poland, Romania, South Africa, and Turkey are eligible for funding. The transnational call has a budget of €8.5 million. European Union — Investments in Primary Agricultural Production
The European Union announces investments in primary agricultural production in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with the aim of achieving sustainable agriculture. The call supports rural development related to agriculture and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The maximum grant amount is BAM 200 thousand per applicant. Nordic Council of Ministers — Arctic Cooperation Program
The Arctic Cooperation Program aims to create sustainable and constructive development in the Arctic. The Nordic Council of Ministers will financially contribute to several sustainable development projects in the Arctic region. As a general rule, three Nordic countries must be involved in a co-operation project. A partnership can be supplemented with one or more other Arctic states (USA, Canada and Russia), but the lead applicant has to be from a Nordic country. U.S. Mission to Russia — One Planet: Environment, Health, and Science
The U.S. Mission to Russia announces the “One Planet: Environment, Health, and Science” grant, which supports the promotion of environmental, health, and scientific issues in Russia. The U.S. Embassy invites proposals for projects that promote collaboration between Russia and the United States in the areas of health, science, technology, the environment, and energy. Applicants may apply for funding for any amount up to US$200 thousand. U.S. and Russian nonprofits, universities, civil society, museums, reserves, and community organizations are eligible. International Climate Initiative — Journey Summer School 2021
EIT Climate-KIC seeks partners for the delivery of the 2021 Journey Summer School program. Journey Summer School is a part residential, part online educational program for young climate leaders. Project proposals for online training activities can request up to €25 thousand in funding. Project proposals for residential training activities can request up to €38 thousand in funding. This call for proposals is open for applications to partner and non-partner organizations (universities, NGOs, governments, and businesses across Europe). United States Department of Agriculture — Technical Agricultural Assistance Ukraine
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) seeks to equip Ukraine’s agricultural sector and regional and national governments with complementary tools to promote and implement science based and internationally recognized standards. USDA will provide financial assistance of up to US$150 thousand to a non-profit organization, university, for-profit organization, or an Ukraine-based organization in support of the “Empowering Ukrainian Agricultural Associations” program.
