BRICS STI Framework Programme — Call for Research and Development Projects

The BRICS STI Framework Programme calls for proposals to promote research cooperation among partner institutions in Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South Africa. Project proposals should consist of partners in at least three BRICS countries for research on preventing and monitoring natural disasters; water resources and pollution management; new and renewable energy; and other themes. Eurasia Foundation — US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange 2022

The US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange (SEE) supports professionals and entrepreneurs in Russia and the USA to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas and best practices. Projects may request funding of up to US$50 thousand for a period between six and nine months. Candidates must be citizens or permanent residents of either the USA or the Russian Federation, and have professional proficiency in both English and Russian. EIT Climate-KIC — Innovation Call for Climate Solutions

EIT Climate-KIC aims to support the development of innovative commercial products or services that achieve climate impact through entrepreneurship and commercial means. EIT Climate-KIC seeks to finance innovators, researchers, scientists, coaches, and experts to join forces in projects that aim to bring innovative solutions to the European market. Innovative actions should address a decarbonization or climate adaptation challenge. EIT anticipates making up to €5 million funding available with a 20% to 40% contribution towards each project’s total budget. The call closes for applications on 18 November 2021. Innovation Call

United States Agency for International Development — Environmental Protection Activity in Serbia

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the Together for Environmental Protection activity in Serbia. USAID will assist Serbia’s biodiversity and environmental protection through provision of capacity building, advocacy support, public awareness and cross-sectoral cooperation. USAID contribution is US$5 million, over the 5-year period of performance. For-profit or nonprofit organizations, as well as institutions of higher education, are eligible to submit an application. European Commission — Enhancing Land Consolidation in North Macedonia

The European Commission (EC) seeks to improve farm structure in North Macedonia to improve the competitiveness of its agricultural sector. The EC calls for land consolidation projects to reduce land fragmentation, improve parcel shapes and increase the size of agricultural holdings. The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €1 million, but budgets of proposed actions should range from €1,1 million to €1,6 million. The difference between the total cost of the action and the amount requested must be financed from other sources. Eligibility extends to nonprofit organizations. Ashoka — ChangemakerXchange for Social Innovators in Europe

The ChangemakerXchange summit and accelerator program for ‘Empathy Changemakers’ for young social innovators aims to develop social-emotional competencies in children and youth to unleash their full potential to take responsibility for themselves, others and the planet. The aim of the summit is to build a cross-sectoral network of changemakers that work together to address societal issues in a collaborative manner. Eligibility extends to participants who lead, co-lead, have founded, or have co-founded an ongoing social venture that addresses a relevant social problem, including in the theme of Environment (among others). Applicants must come from Europe and be aged 18 – 35. ChangemakerXchange will cover the travel costs and conference costs for the event to be held in Cologne (Germany, October 2021). Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin (wider Prespa-Ohrid area)

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) and the Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT) invite Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$20 thousand) for projects that support the sustainable management of water catchments in the wider Prespa-Ohrid area (Albania and North Macedonia). EIT Climate-KIC — Education for Climate Change Awareness

EIT Climate-KIC invites partners and collaborators, e.g. civil society organizations, municipalities, research institutions and private actors, to experiment with novel educational and learning methodologies to inspire their communities’ climate mindset. The overall goal is to enable a just, resilient and prosperous transition to a net zero carbon economy that supports both planetary and human health. EIT Climate-KIC will fund up to 5 experiments with up to €12 thousand in EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries (Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine) and Outermost Regions. British Council — Climate Change Communicators

FameLab Climate Change Communicators is a global online competition and training event to build trust in climate science. The British Council invites aspiring climate change communicators to submit a video giving a three-minute talk in English related to the theme of ‘Trust in Climate Science’. All finalists will take part in a two-day online masterclass delivered by leading science communication trainers. The competition is open to entries from individuals based in: Albania, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, China, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Serbia, Turkey, Uganda, and Vietnam. EIT Climate-KIC — Climate Action Citizen Engagement

The European Commission launches the design phase of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. EIT Climate-KIC calls for climate innovation in public space through citizen engagement. Projects should mobilize citizen-driven initiatives and ideas all across-Europe and bring together cities, regions and social engagement innovators to empower civil society and drive climate action. EIT Climate-KIC will select three proposals and will grant a maximum of €30 thousand per proposal to develop a public space co-design activity in a city or region with civil society leadership.
