The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists from India to apply for a media workshop on covering pathways to Net Zero, to be held in Kolkata (February 2023). The workshop will help journalists improve their understanding of the energy transition, and learn how to report more effectively on climate change. The workshop is open to journalists from print, television, online and/or radio. EJN will bear the travel, accommodation, and meal costs of selected participants. African Development Bank — AgriPitch Competition

The AgriPitch Competition is a two-week-long business development program on strategic partnerships for agriculture projects. Participating agripreneurs will receive follow-up mentorship and coaching for a period of six months. The program offers total grant funding of US$140 thousand. Eligible applicants have to be less than 35 years of age and must be involved in an agriculture value chain focused business. The application deadline is 04 November 2022. Asian Development Bank — Climate Change Data Visualization Challenge

ADB South Asia Department (SARD) aims to increase the visibility of the importance of climate research and build climate action capacity in ADB developing member countries. The Data Visualization Challenge seeks data scientists and practitioners to create novel and insightful visualizations on climate change and resilience. The winner will have the potential to be contracted by ADB to develop and deliver workshops on data literacy and visualization for a total contractual value up to US$10 thousand. Africa Matters Initiative — Development Program for Young African Women

The Africa Matters Initiative (AMI) accepts applications for ShE is Empowered. ShE is Empowered is a one-year online development program for young African women and girls focused on leadership and social entrepreneurship. AMI will provide seed funding to assist with the execution of community engagement projects. Applicants have to be between 15-29 years old and live in Ghana, Malawi, Egypt, Botswana, Kenya, Tunisia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, or Sierra Leone. Safer End of Engineered Life — Reducing the Burning of Waste

The Safer End of Engineered Life funds projects that tackle the open burning of waste that lead to a risk to human health and safety. Activities must lead to demonstrable impacts for the beneficiaries, which reduces the risks posed to vulnerable groups as a result of the open burning of municipal solid waste. There are two types of grants available: impact grants (up to £60 thousand) and baseline study and awareness-raising grants (up to £20 thousand). Australian Government — Direct Aid Program India

The Australian Government seeks applications for its Direct Aid Program (DAP). The small grants program supports small-scale sustainable development projects and activities in the fields of agriculture; environmental conservation; and others. Grants are typically provided up to US$14,000 each for projects of max. 12 months. Eligibility extends to community groups, NGOs and academic institutions engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis. Application closing date is 10 November 2022. Social Shifters — Global Climate Challenge

The Social Shifters and Rathbones seek applications to the Global Climate Challenge. The program is designed to enable young people (18-30 years) to explore ideas that will help accelerate the shift to net zero emissions. The challenge looks for ideas, projects and business solutions from anywhere in the world that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. ACT Foundation — Changemakers Innovation Challenge

The Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation accepts applications from national and regional non-profit organizations working to address social, environmental, and economic challenges across the African Continent. Focus areas include health, environment, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Proposed projects must have a maximum life cycle of 12 months and benefit African communities. United Nations Development Programme — Small Grants for Sustainable Livelihoods Projects in Zimbabwe

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites proposals for projects towards supporting awareness and education on conservation; sustainable livelihoods activities; and alternative sources of income and energy in Zimbabwe. Proposed project budgets should not exceed US$150 thousand. Total expected duration of each project is up to 18 months.
