Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit — Support to Micro and Small Enterprises

WIDU.africa supports job creation in Africa by redirecting remittances from the African diaspora in Europe into micro and small businesses of relatives or friends in participating African countries. The WIDU Grant supports new and existing businesses with up to €2,500. Currently, WIDU offers local calls targeting green businesses in Kenya and Ethiopia to support enterprises interested in building a sustainable green future in their communities. Target sectors include renewable energy, agriculture, and reduction of waste. Applicants need to either have an existing small business or a concrete business idea. World Wildlife Fund U.S. — Reforestation Grants

The Reforestation Grant Program supports communities in deforested and degraded landscapes through forest restoration and reforestation. Reforestation grants are made to local organizations that focus on connecting corridors, creating buffer zones, improving degraded lands, restoring watersheds, and expanding forest cover. U.S. Government — International Exchange Grant Program

The Office of Private Sector Exchange (BridgeUSA) announces an open competition for the administration of the 2023 BridgeUSA STEM Scholarship Fund. The Office plans to issue one cooperative agreement of approximately US$260 thousand to implement the program. U.S. public and private non-profit organizations may submit proposals to provide approximately 50 scholarships to foreign university students, scholars, and professionals across Africa, East Asia and Pacific, and Western Hemisphere regions. AstraZeneca — Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3 seeks youth-led projects which tackle the causes of air pollution and focus on the long-term health of young people. Projects should focus on individual behavior change, new technologies, or multi-stakeholder advocacy approaches to change laws/policies. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from a team of AstraZeneca Young Health Program professionals. The application deadline is 30 November 2022. Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund — Annual Conservation Grants 2023

The Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund makes grants for wildlife studies, habitat protection, and community conservation and education in critical ecosystems around the world. Disney supports projects that build on previous work, and that have the potential to contribute to long-term conservation. Eligibility extends to nonprofit organizations worldwide. Cape Cod Bird Club — Small Grants for Well-Being and Protection of Birds

The Cape Cod Bird Club (CCBC) offers grants of up to US$1000 to support conservation efforts relating directly or indirectly to the well-being or protection of birds. Due to limited funds, for 2022-23, CCBC accepts applications only from proposers working in the Western Hemisphere where many Cape Cod migrants spend some part of their lives. Eligibility extends to organizations that need seed money to begin or additional funding to continue. Applications are reviewed and funded twice a year with deadlines on 01 May and 01 November. University of British Columbia — Forest Research Grant

The Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia (UBC) offers the Future Forests Fellowship, a research grant to a forestry student to enroll in their PhD program. UBC offers C$70 thousand annually for up to four years. The fellowship is intended to cover all expenses incurred in the preparation and conduct of research. British Academy — Visiting Fellowships

The British Academy’s Visiting Fellowships program provides outstanding academics based in any country overseas with the opportunity to be based at a UK higher education or other research institution. Visiting Fellows will work with colleagues at host UK institutions in order to develop new research collaborations and/or deepen existing partnerships. Fellows must be of postdoctoral level or above, or have equivalent research experience. The maximum funding available is £33 thousand. The deadline for applications is 30 November 2022. Blue Action Fund — Wider Caribbean Sea

The Blue Action Fund announces a new open call for grant proposals focusing on the Wider Caribbean Sea. The Fund provides individual grants to selected conservation projects with focus on marine protected areas (MPAs) to support conservation of biodiversity, and projects that seek to enhance livelihood conditions and food security. The Fund will award grants of €2-4 million. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations with proven experience in coastal and marine conservation and sustainable livelihood development in the area. International Fact-Checking Network — Climate Misinformation Grant

The International Fact-Checking Network welcomes applications to their Climate Misinformation Grant program. The initiative supports organizations working to combat misinformation to actor, behavioral, and content trends that are unique to climate change.
