IUCN seeks Nature-and-Climate-positive projects with on-the-ground restoration activities, including community development and activities. The Facility provides grants ranging from € 750 thousand to € 1.5 million. Applications are accepted from a wide range of organizations involved in the design, development, and implementation of high-quality, scalable nature-based projects for carbon markets, such as NGOs; Indigenous Peoples, and Local Community organisations; forestry and agricultural companies; cooperatives; and others with the relevant expertise. UNESCO — International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences
The UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences rewards projects and activities of individuals, institutions, and NGOs for scientific research in the life sciences leading to improving the quality of human life. Projects in life sciences contribute to poverty eradication, improved health, food and water security. Nominations are submitted by governments of UNESCO’s member states, and by NGOs maintaining official relations with UNESCO that are active in the fields covered by the Prize. Global Innovation Fund — Social Innovations for the Developing World
The Global Innovation Fund (GIF) welcomes proposals of innovative and cost-effective solutions that address any major development challenge (including energy, water access, agriculture and fisheries) in any country or in multiple countries of the developing world. The program is open to teams and coalitions from social enterprises, for-profit companies, NGOs, government agencies, international organizations, and researchers anywhere in the world. The Milkywire Climate Transformation Fund (CTF) is a charitable fund that supports pioneering projects needed to reach global net zero. The fund supports nature-based solutions implemented by non-profit organizations that help to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change, such as afforestation, reforestation, forest preservation, restoration of degraded lands, and projects that directly avoid or reduce emissions. The Minor Foundation for Major Challenges funds communication projects that mitigate anthropogenic climate change. Proposals should focus on influencing public opinion, providing inspiration, changing attitudes, spreading information, etc. The Foundation welcomes applications from all over the world. The Foundation makes large grants ranging from €20 thousand to €200 thousand, although larger projects may be considered. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks applications from journalist networks, media organizations, civil society organizations, or academic institutions throughout the Asia-Pacific region. With this call, the EJN aims to boost the quantity and quality of environmental and climate coverage in the region. The proposed projects can focus on capacity building activities, networking, or be used as a seed grant to build a new environmental media startup or journalist network. Global Resilience Partnership — Resilient Agriculture Innovations
The Resilient Agriculture Innovations for Nature (RAIN) challenge aims to convert seed-level innovative agricultural ideas in East Africa and scale them to sustainable business ideas. RAIN seeks new innovative agricultural initiatives to provide customized support. Winners will receive a cash prize of up to US$50 thousand after the initial mentoring period. EKOenergy — Solar and Wind Energy Projects
EKOenergy seeks project proposals to provide funding for solar and wind energy projects in low- and middle-income countries. The funding will be made available to renewable electricity projects aimed at alleviating energy poverty. All projects are managed by experienced organizations and are implemented in cooperation with local NGOs. EKOenergy will support 15-20 new projects of €15 thousand to €40 thousand each. Restor launches the RestorLife Awards to celebrate and fund the work being done to protect and restore nature. The NGO Award recognizes organizations leading impactful conservation and restoration projects and provides US$25 thousand in prize money. This initiative seeks to honour NGOs that are making remarkable progress in nature restoration and strengthening grassroots efforts. The Responsible Business Leadership Award highlight organizations that have shown exceptional dedication to positive environmental action and responsible business leadership. On the Edge Fund — Conservation Grants
The On the Edge Fund launches a new grants program that aims to increase conservation attention and raise the profile of Evolutionary Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) species globally. Conservation grants are made to individuals and small organizations working to protect EDGE species or EDGE zones anywhere in the world.
