Earth Journalism Network — Stop Spillover Media Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers grants to media organizations to support capacity-building activities for media and journalists related to understanding and preventing zoonotic viral spillover. EJN is particularly interested in projects that help journalists use data and the latest scientific research in their reporting. Applications are open to traditional news media, broadcast media, development media, new media and independent media outlets from the following countries: Liberia, Sierra Leone, Côte d’Ivoire, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Vietnam. The Save Our Seas Foundation (SOS) Ocean Storytelling Writing Grant supports conservation storytellers. SOS is looking for writers who can tell conservation stories about the oceans, from the animals themselves, to fisheries, to the communities whose lives are intertwined with marine life. Story topics can range from the animals themselves, to fisheries to the communities whose lives are intertwined with marine life. Successful grantees will receive a paid assignment to cover a conservation story. Earth Journalism Network — Biodiversity Story Grants East Africa
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) makes reporting grants to further the understanding of the importance of biodiversity in East Africa and region-specific threats to biodiversity conservation. Up to 10 journalists will receive grants of US$1,200 to produce in-depth biodiversity and conservation feature stories in East Africa. Journalists from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda are welcome to apply. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience. The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) accepts applications for the Climate Change Journalism Fellowship.
