Orange Telecom — Tech Entrepreneurship Program

The Orange Summer Challenge 2025 (OSC25) is a tech entrepreneurship program designed to support innovative startups that combine hardware and software solutions with strong social or environmental impact. OSC25 offers participants technical and human support to develop their technological solutions. Winners of the international competition will receive financial support for incubation and other costs related to the development of their solution. Applications are open until 15 June 2025. International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology — African Women in Biotechnology

The ICGEB-SAWBP Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme supports South African women researchers holding a PhD degree, in Biotechnology or a related discipline who will perform hypothesis-driven research. Proposed research projects must fall within one of the ICGEB areas of research: Infectious Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases, Bioinformatics, Plant Systems Biology, Biopesticides and Virology. Society for Marine Mammalogy — Research Grants for Field Research 2025

The Society for Marine Mammalogy makes grants to its members who are nationals of emerging and developing countries. Grants are for up to US$2 thousand for field research by early-career researchers. Recipients who subsequently have their research accepted for presentation at a SMM biennial conference will receive $500 toward travel expenses to the conference. Applications are particularly welcome from scientists working in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, and Russia. The application period ends on 30 June 2025. African Women in Agricultural Research and Development — Climate Action Fellowship

The AWARD Climate Action Fellowship aims to develop the leadership and technical capacities of African women in climate change adaptation. The one-year program offers leadership development, gender integration training, mentorship, and the opportunity to implement Climate Research and Innovation Projects. Eligible applicants are women from Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, or Senegal, holding at least a master’s degree in relevant fields, with a minimum of two years’ experience in climate-related work, and residing in Africa throughout the fellowship period. German Federal Ministry of Education and Research — Digital Green Talents Award

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) recognizes young researchers worldwide working at the intersection of digitalization and sustainability. Awardees receive a fully funded three-month research stay in Germany in 2026, participate in a one-week SpringSchool, and join a global alumni network. Eligible applicants are Master’s students in their final year or current PhD candidates (or recent graduates within three months), under 30 years old, with strong academic records. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Global AgriInno Challenge 2025

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) seeks youth-led innovations and solutions in response to the challenges associated with distribution and sales of agri-food products. Selected teams of two to five young innovators will be invited to further develop and pitch their digital development solutions. Winning teams will receive seed funding of US$30 thousand to develop their ideas. The agri-innovation challenge is open to all youth (below 35 years old) with digital innovations or ideas for the agri-food sector. The deadline to submit an application form is 07 June 2025. Nominations are open for Forbes’ Sustainability Leaders list. Forbes seeks leaders spanning all industries and disciplines in recognition that a diverse climate movement is critical. Forbes Sustainability Leaders will serve as a directory of those driving the innovative and scalable solutions the world needs. The list is open to visionary startup founders mobilizing and scaling technological advancements, C-Suite executives taking risks and accelerating current gold-standard climate policy, scientists, policymakers, social advocates, investors, storytellers, and artists. International Organization for Migration — Climate Mobility in Africa

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) launches a call for applications for the initiative “Accelerating Youth-Led Action in Addressing Climate Mobility in Africa.” The program aims to strengthen the capacities of youth and youth-led civil society organizations across Africa by providing technical expertise, resources, and platforms to lead climate mobility solutions. Save Our Seas Foundation — Small Grants 2025

Save Our Seas makes grants for marine research, conservation, and education worldwide. Only projects concerned with marine chondrichthyan species (sharks, rays, skates, sawfishes, and chimaeras) will be considered. Small grants (average about US$5 thousand) are made to early-career scientists for projects of up to 12-18 months. The application deadline is 28 June 2025. SOSF Small Grants

Forrest Research Foundation — Research Fellowship

The Forrest Research Foundation at the University of Western Australia offers research fellowships to attract early-career post-doctoral researchers. The fellowship comprises a salary, an accommodation allowance, and a one-off research and travel allowance. The duration of the Fellowship is up to three years on a full-time basis.
