British Council — UK Institutional Links with Gulf countries
The Newton Institutional Links support research and innovation collaboration between the UK and partners in any of the following countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. Subject areas for the collaborative research include agriculture, climate and environment, sustainable energy, water and sanitation, and several others — varying with each partner country. Proposals are submitted jointly by a principal investigator in the UK with a principal investigator in the partner country. Grants range from £50 thousand to £125 thousand over two years. Toyota Motor Corporation — Toyota Environmental Activities Grant Program 2018
Toyota makes grants to support environmental activities implemented by nonprofit organizations. The themes are “biodiversity conservation” and “counter measures to global warming”. Grants are made in Japan and internationally. The international program is open to applicants in Japan, and to international partners in collaboration with Japanese groups. Prince Albert of Monaco II Foundation — Climate Change Masters Scholarships
Six Masters Scholarships are available to applicants enrolled in eligible online distance learning programmes offered by the University of Edinburgh in the 2018-2019 academic session. Each scholarship will cover the full fees relating to the Postgraduate Certificate in Climate Change Management. European Commission — Interreg Atlantic Area, 2nd Call for Proposals
Interreg Atlantic Area supports transnational cooperation projects in 36 Atlantic regions to achieve economic, social and territorial cohesion by implementing solutions to answer to regional challenges in the fields of innovation, resource efficiency, environment and cultural assets. The second call for proposals is open to projects focused on delivering transnational, tangible and sustainable results and territorial and economic impact across the Atlantic Area. There is no pre-established lower or upper limit to project budgets. Project partners must be located within the eligible territory of the Atlantic Area regions, but if the benefit for regions in the cooperation area is clearly demonstrated, organisations based outside the EU may join project partnerships of the Programme. New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre — Postdoctoral Fellowship in Livestock Emissions Research
The government of New Zealand sponsors LEARN as a program to build international capability in livestock emissions research. LEARN currently invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships of one to two years from technical staff and scientists in developing countries who will work with New Zealand colleagues. Applicants need the collaborative support of a New Zealand host organization, which will administer the funds. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Scholarships for Water and Sanitation Professionals
Rotary and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education provide scholarships to students studying Water and Sanitation. Candidates must live or work near a Rotary club and be admitted to one of the following degree programs at IHE Delft (joint programs are not eligible): (1) MSc in Urban Water and Sanitation; (2) MSc in Water Management and Governance; or (3) MSc in Water Science and Engineering. The Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition sponsors BCFN YES! (Young Earth Solutions) as an international competition for young researchers on the theme of sustainable food systems. The program offers one-year research grants up to €20 thousand to PhD and postdoc researchers worldwide from any background and nationality. The maximum age is 35.
