Garden Club of America — Awards in Tropical Botany and Horticulture
The Garden Club of America (GCA) offers several grants, prizes, and fellowships for students enrolled at universities in the USA, including some awards that have a tropical focus. The Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS) makes grants for multi-disciplinary research on global issues that are relevant in the international arena, or that concern multiple countries simultaneously. The Sony World Photography Awards, one of the world’s leading photography competitions, recognizes the best single images from across 10 diverse categories, including ‘Landscape’ and ‘Natural World & Wildlife’. The competition is free to enter and open to photographers worldwide, with specific categories tailored to professional series, standalone single images, students, and youth under 19 years-old. The Volvo Environment Prize aims to promote scientific research and innovations that in broad terms fall within the environmental and sustainability field. The Volvo Environment Prize Foundation invites universities, research institutes, scientists, engineers, as well as other individuals and organizations to submit nominations. Priority is given to an individual or to a group of individuals. Past laureates have included leaders in fields such as global change, biodiversity, energy efficiency, and others. Marion Dönhoff Foundation — Environment and Sustainability
The Marion Dönhoff Fellowship supports young conservationists, scientists, and activists from the post-Soviet region and Central Asia. The program funds study or research stays in Germany for up to five months, focusing on environmental journalism, political ecology, and sustainable development. Eligible applicants must be between 25 and 38 years old, possess professional experience, and hold citizenship in countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, or Uzbekistan.
