Collaborate Pacific aims to support effective governance, leadership, regional cooperation, and sustainable development in the Pacific. The fund supports small-scale activities in thematic priority areas: Agriculture, Climate Change, Oceans and Fisheries, Renewable Energy, and many other development priorities. Funding can cover travel (including transport, accommodation, and meals) and event costs (including hosting costs). University of the Sunshine Coast — PhD Scholarships in Tropical Forest Restoration
The University of the Sunshine Coast offers five PhD scholarships for projects related to restoration of degraded tropical forest landscapes. Graduate students will undertake their research as part of a large reforestation project working with communities to restore degraded landscapes in the Philippines. Applicants must be based in Australia or willing to relocate to Australia. The scholarship includes a monthly salary, tuition of 3 years and an allowance for relocation. Open Society Foundations — Course in Climate Justice
The Island Innovation Caribbean Climate Justice Leaders Academy is open for applications. The interactive course will run from mid-July 2023 to January 2024. The program aims to build the capacity of young professionals, eligible students, and young community leaders working in the Caribbean region. Participants will receive expert training and capacity building through online training sessions from climate experts. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists from Nairobi (Kenya) to apply for a story grant to report on air pollution in the city. Journalists are encouraged to examine the key sources of air pollution in Nairobi and its impacts on the local environment, economy and health, among other topics. The Climate Resiliency Challenge seeks organizations and teams across the globe to develop solutions that will empower frontline communities to be ready and resilient against disasters caused by climate change – in particular, wildfires, floods, and extreme weather. Africa Platform of Ghent University Association — Short Stay Research Fellowships
The Africa Platform of Ghent University Association (GAP) welcomes applications for visiting fellows to facilitate and foster academic collaboration between Ghent University Association and academic institutions in Africa. Awardees will spend a minimum period of two weeks at Ghent University or one of the associated University Colleges. The fellowship consists of a grant of €1000, plus one return flight ticket, for a minimum stay of two weeks. The fellowships are aimed at researchers (junior or senior lecturers & professors) who are affiliated with an African higher education or research institution.
