The Nature Conservancy Photo Contest seeks photographs that bring the natural world to people’s eyes and to their hearts. Participants can submit their pictures into five different categories: Cities and Nature; Landscape; People and Nature; Water; and Wildlife. Winners will receive gift cards and equipment. Mozilla Technology Fund — AI and Environmental Justice
The Mozilla Technology Fund seeks to fund open source projects at the intersection of environmental justice and AI which are making a positive impact in ecosystems and human communities. Mozilla is interested in convening technical projects that have a firm grounding in environmental and climate justice, sustainability, and ecology. EUTOPIA European University — Science and Innovation Fellowships Program
The EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship Program (EUTOPIA-SIF) aims to enhance the research potential and career perspectives of young researchers from around the world. EUTOPIA-SIF will select 16 post-doctoral fellows on the basis of an individual research project for a 24-month post-doctoral contract at one of the EUTOPIA universities. Candidates are invited to submit research projects in one of the five key research areas, including sustainability (energy, circular economy, mobility, urban planning, material heritage, water management). Earth Journalism Network — Training: Investigate Environmental Crimes
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) trains selected journalists in East Africa on techniques to investigate money laundering, fraud, bribery and corruption, trace assets, underground money movements and illicit payment methods. Applicants can be from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda or South Sudan. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio). Azimuth World Foundation — Funding for Indigenous Peoples Grassroots Projects
The Azimuth World Foundation funds projects by grassroots Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities-led organizations aiming to improve access to health and to save water. The maximum grant amount is US$25 thousand. To be eligible for funding, organizations must have a USA tax-exempt status (501 (c)(3)) or a Fiscal Sponsor. Leading House Africa — Research Partnership Grant
Leading House Africa calls for applications from PhD students and postdoctoral researchers affiliated with a Swiss Institution of Higher Education to further develop and foster new collaborations between Swiss researchers and partners in Africa. Proposals from STEM fields, including biological sciences and medicine are accepted. The call will award a maximum of CHF 40 thousand per research collaboration project. EIT Climate-KIC, IDB Lab, and the Clean Technology Fund seek to advance climate innovation in Latin American and the Caribbean. Up to 25 organizations will receive tailored capacity building and knowledge transfer in specific areas around supporting climate innovations. Eligibility extends to innovation agencies, incubators, accelerators, ecosystem builders, venture capital investors, co-working spaces, and hubs that wish to initiate or deepen their involvement in fighting climate change by supporting start-ups focused on mitigating carbon emissions. Climate Story Lab — Training Program in Lagos
The Climate Story Lab is a training program with focus on storytellers in Nigeria and West Africa, whose works are rooted in climate storytelling with strong focus on the region. Projects should be non-fiction films, immersive and interactive stories or podcasts. Fiction films with a clear climate perspective can also be considered. Projects must be in production, post-production or distribution and outreach stages. Applicants must be 18 years or older and be a national of any West African country.
