Cisco and Global Citizen invites applications for the Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award. The Award is made to a young individual (18-30 years) who has contributed meaningfully towards the goal of ending global poverty. Global Citizen accepts applications from individuals who have, or contribute to, a registered legal entity such as a non-profit, for-profit, or social enterprise. The Clinton Global Initiative University seeks student leaders from around the world who are committed to taking action in their community to address a pressing challenge such as the environment, climate change, poverty alleviation, or public health. Fellows receive an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the Clinton Global Initiative 2025 Annual Meeting in New York City in September 2025. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants Amazon
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants to produce stories on transnational conservation crimes in the Amazon Region and the threats faced by Indigenous peoples and local communities. EJN welcomes story ideas that take a regional perspective on the threats to biodiversity in the Amazon region and focus on the transnational nature of activities such as illegal logging, unsustainable and unregulated fishing, wildlife trafficking, and illegal mining. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens — Botany in Action Fellowships 2025
The Botany in Action (BIA) Fellowship program at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens fosters the development of the next generation of plant-based scientists. Subject areas include ethnobotany, plant diversity and conservation, landscape and brownfield restoration, and others. The program is open to Ph.D. students of any nationality who are conducting plant-based scientific research at U.S. graduate institutions. Grants are US$5 thousand for research-related expenses at sites in the U.S. or internationally, plus an all-expenses paid trip to Phipps to make a public presentation. The World Press Photo Contest recognizes the best visual journalism and awards visual stories in eight categories, including Environment and Nature. The award winners will receive €5 thousand each. World Academy of Sciences — Short Course on Science and Diplomacy
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) seek candidates for the third AAAS-TWAS course on science and diplomacy. The 5-day course is for young scientists whose work has brought them into the international policy-making arena; policymakers interested in science-based themes that might influence their work; administrators of research institutions; and research funders focused on building international networks. European Landowners’ Organization — Land and Soil Management Award
The Land and Soil Management Award rewards land use and soil management practices mitigating soil threats i.e. soil degradation, erosion, reduction of organic matter content, diffuse contamination, and compaction as well as the reduction of soil biodiversity, salinization, sealing, flooding, and landslides. The winning project receives €5 thousand. Eligibility extends to farmers, landowners, and groups of farmers, on their own or in collaboration with research institutes, universities, and/or private companies. Leakey Foundation — Fellowships for Paleoanthropology and Primatology Students
The Leakey Foundation makes the Franklin Mosher Baldwin Memorial Fellowships to help students from developing countries get advanced education and training in paleoanthropology and primatology. Applicants should already be enrolled or provisionally accepted in a graduate program related to human origins and evolution. A fellowship provides for two years of support. The maximum award is US$15 thousand per year. The program has an annual deadline for new applications, and a different application process and deadline to apply for second-year renewals.
