The AQUAEXCEL2020 project invites proposals from European research groups for scientific research that utilizes the aquaculture experimental facilities of any of their participating aquaculture research infrastructures. The transnational access program offers access to facilities and expertise not available in the applicants’ own country. Interested researchers can propose projects that involve visits to the chosen research infrastructure for periods of up to three months. Associated travel and subsistence expenses will be paid for. The U.S. Embassy in Malabo invites project proposals with focus on women issues and economy diversification in Equatorial Guinea. Projects need to address the social or economic inclusion of women (i.e. equal rights, training in business development skills, promoting the entrepreneurial spirit, and opportunities for women) or diversify the Equatoguinean economy. The Embassy expects to make 4 grants of up to US$7 thousand for projects with a duration of up to 7 months. The Royal Society hosts a program of scientific meetings each year with the aim to bring together scientists from around the world to present and discuss new research in all areas of science. Each meeting is organised by leaders in the field, using their expertise to ensure the key topics are covered. The Royal Society contributes to travel and expenses for the meeting and provides logistical support. Proposals are invited from any UK-based researcher. Young Champions of the Earth supports outstanding environmental initiatives of talented people worldwide between the ages of 18 and 30. The program is a global stage to showcase technological inventions and innovative business models that improve the planet’s health. The program will select seven Young Champions of the Earth every year — one from each of Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, and West Asia. Colorado State University — Seminar: Planning and Managing Tourism in Protected Areas
Colorado State University (CSU) offers a seminar in the Western USA for individuals engaged in tourism and outdoor recreation in protected areas. The next seminar is scheduled for September 2020. Ideal participants are mid-level professional and technical personnel who work for governmental or NGO conservation and tourism organizations; in academia; in the private sector; and in community-based and indigenous tourism and conservation initiatives in or near protected areas. New Zealand’s government provides a variety of opportunities for training and university study through the New Zealand Aid Program, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The program has four scholarship schemes, reaching a total of over 90 countries. The priorities for support often include agriculture, renewable energy, fisheries, disaster risk management, and other areas related to natural resources and environment. The eligibility requirements for scholarships are specific to each country/regional program. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks journalists to attend a three-day marine science workshop in the Maldives (24-26 June 2020).
