Natural Resources Defense Council — Climate Storytelling Fellowship

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and partners invite applications to the NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship. The Fellowship will grant US$20 thousand to three writers to support revision of a feature screenplay or pilot that engages with climate change in a meaningful way. In addition, each fellowship recipient will receive professional feedback and guidance on their scripts. The first 400 writers that opt in with a qualified screenplay or pilot will receive one free month of hosting and one free evaluation. Fee Waivers must be requested no later than 23 October 2022. Earth Journalism Network — Reporting on the Mediterranean Sea (Tunisia)

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in Tunisia to support the production of in-depth stories on the scale of unsustainable marine management and biodiversity loss in the Mediterranean Sea. EJN welcomes submissions that highlight the impact on coastal communities, including the loss of sustainable livelihoods, the hardships of small-scale fishers, the decline of valuable ecosystems, and the loss of natural and cultural heritage. The Networks expects to award up to 5 grants with an average budget of US$250 each. Eligibility extends to journalists based in Tunisia. The application deadline is 17 June 2022. German Academic Exchange Service — Leadership for Africa

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for qualified applicants from developing countries who enroll at German universities for Masters Degrees. The scholarship program “Leadership for Africa” (LfA) aims to support young refugees and national scholars from Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger and Senegal at higher education institutions in Germany. The scholarship includes a language course (2-6 months) before the start of the university studies, tuition-fees and a monthly scholarship payment for living expenses. ASEAN Centre for Energy — ASEAN Energy Youth Awards 2022

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) announces the ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA) in recognition of young students’ valuable contribution to sustainable development and energy transition. The theme of the 3rd award is “Accelerating Energy Transition towards Economic Recovery and Sustainable Growth.” The winners and runners-up will be invited to the 40th of ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting in September 2022 and receive small cash prizes. Pennsylvania State University — Online Course in Dairy Management

Pennsylvania State University (USA) announces an 8-week online course about sustainable dairy production. The course will offer an international perspective on aspects of dairy management such as genetics, nutrition, reproduction, etc. Target audiences include the general public interested; professionals; livestock producers; and educators and students. SDG Academy — Free Online Courses on Sustainable Development

The SDG Academy (edX) offers graduate-level courses on sustainable development for participants around the world. Thematic areas range from sustainable cities to sustainable food systems to climate action. SDG Academy courses can be audited for free or participants can choose to receive a Verified Certificate for a small fee. The Academy offers financial assistance for learners who want to earn Verified Certificates but who may not be able to afford the fee. All courses are interactive and self-paced. African ChangeMakers — Fellowship 2022

The African ChangeMakers Fellowship Program selects African changemakers between the ages of 25-40 years to train, upskills and empower them with globally accepted cross-cutting training. Selected applicants are enrolled in an intensive four weeks’ digital online connectivity course to receive educational and capacity development in Civic Engagement, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Project Management, Techpreneur, Social Enterprise, Mentorship, SDG, African Union 2063 Agenda, and much more. BeChangeMaker Africa — Social Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program

BeChangeMaker Africa is an online training program for social entrepreneurs. Participants gain access to tools and technology for start-ups, coaching, mentoring, and access to a diverse global network of potential investors. Interested social entrepreneurs have to form a team of 2-5 people between the ages of 18 and 35 years and present a social challenge they wish to address. Applications are open until 01 August 2022. One Young World — Technovators for Social Good Scholarship

One Young World supports young women working in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Technovators for Social Good Scholarship will sponsor a young leader to attend the One Young World 2022 Summit in Manchester (UK) and enable them to participate in speeches, panels, networking, and workshops. Candidates must be females aged 18 – 30 leading innovative and impactful initiatives to promote access and opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for women. UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment — FoodTech Challenge

The FoodTech Challenge seeks technologies that are on the cusp of transforming food and traditional agriculture practices, efficiently and sustainably. The challenge targets early-stage start-ups, ranging from international university-based research teams to individual entrepreneurs and small firms. The total prize pool is valued at US$2 million. The regular submission deadline is 24 June, however, startups that would like to receive feedback on their submissions should apply by 20 May 2022. FoodTech Challenge
