Halcyon — Support for Early-Stage Social Entrepreneurs

The Halcyon Incubator program equips early-stage social entrepreneurs from all around the world with support to transform their ideas into scalable and sustainable ventures. Ventures may be for-profit, hybrid, or undecided, as long as the core mission is to create measurable social change. (Note: This may include business ideas in agriculture, sustainable energy, or sustainable development.) Ventures structured as ‘non-profit’ will only be considered if they have a product or service they are selling. Partnerships (ventures co-founded and led by two individuals) are eligible. Selected entrepreneurs will receive a $10 thousand stipend per venture for food and living expenses during the residency phase, mentorship, one-on-one coaching, and 5 months of free workspace at Halcyon House. The Green Web Foundation — Green Web Fellowship

The Green Web Foundation seeks practitioners for a paid part-time fellowship of 10 months. Successful fellows will deliver a project that contributes to the digital rights and climate justice movements. Fellows participate in workshops on effective climate communication, digital sustainability and more. Fellows receive a stipend of €6 thousand and a project budget to pay for materials, travel and other expenses related to their proposed project. The call for applications closes on 31 October 2023. Ramsar Regional Center – East Asia — Wetland Fund 2024

The Ramsar Regional Center – East Asia (RRC-EA) accepts project proposals for funding support under the RRC-EA Wetland Fund 2024. Wetland advocates from the region are invited to apply for small grants in line with the following thematic areas: (1) Wetland Conservation; and (2) Celebration of World Wetlands Day. RRC-EA will support up to 4 projects under Thematic Area 1 with a budget of US$10 thousand each, and up to 3 projects under Thematic Area 2 with a budget of US$5 thousand each. Applicants can be practitioners, policy makers, researchers, local community leaders, media, or NGOs based in East, Southeast, and South Asia. Applications have to be submitted by 10 November 2023. Land Accelerator — Restoration of Degraded Forests and Farmland

The Land Accelerator is a four-month program for entrepreneurs who wish to learn how to restore degraded forests and farmland. The program offers courses in South Asia and Latin America. The accelerator is designed for companies that are in the testing phase of taking their product to market. Any business model that is recognized as restoring land is eligible, including, but not limited to smart agriculture, water conservation, agroforestry, tree planting, and beekeeping, forest conservation. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change — Global Climate Action Awards

The United Nations (UN) welcomes the submission activities that serve as examples of what people around the world are doing to address climate change. For 2023, the Awards seek to highlight the innovative climate action that young people around the world are undertaking to ensure their communities are more sustainable, resilient, and equitable places to live. The winners will receive a range of benefits, including fully-paid participation at the UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The deadline for applications is 15 October 2023. Halcyon — MENA Fellowship

The Halcyon MENA Fellowship helps founders and entrepreneurs to build Health, Climate, and EquityTech solutions for impact across the Middle East and North Africa. Fellows receive expert training in Washington, DC, and critical resources to accelerate their venture. Fellows accepted into this program will receive US$5 thousand equity-free living stipend per venture. Eligibility extends to for-profit startups with scalable solutions. The Nature Conservancy — Photo Contest 2023

The Nature Conservancy Photo Contest seeks photographs that bring the natural world to people’s eyes and to their hearts. Participants can submit their pictures into five different categories: Cities and Nature; Landscape; People and Nature; Water; and Wildlife. Winners will receive gift cards and equipment. Mozilla Technology Fund — AI and Environmental Justice

The Mozilla Technology Fund seeks to fund open source projects at the intersection of environmental justice and AI which are making a positive impact in ecosystems and human communities. Mozilla is interested in convening technical projects that have a firm grounding in environmental and climate justice, sustainability, and ecology. Applicants should have a product or working prototype. The Mozilla Technology Fund will provide awards of up to US$50 thousand and one year of mentorship. The application deadline is 05 October 2023. EUTOPIA European University — Science and Innovation Fellowships Program

The EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship Program (EUTOPIA-SIF) aims to enhance the research potential and career perspectives of young researchers from around the world. EUTOPIA-SIF will select 16 post-doctoral fellows on the basis of an individual research project for a 24-month post-doctoral contract at one of the EUTOPIA universities. Candidates are invited to submit research projects in one of the five key research areas, including sustainability (energy, circular economy, mobility, urban planning, material heritage, water management). Earth Journalism Network — Training: Investigate Environmental Crimes

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) trains selected journalists in East Africa on techniques to investigate money laundering, fraud, bribery and corruption, trace assets, underground money movements and illicit payment methods. Applicants can be from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda or South Sudan. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio).
