The Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) is a global technical assistance program to support climate smart projects to access finance. The aim is to facilitate a collaborative approach to unlocking finance for climate projects at scale and creating a pipeline of ‘investment ready’ low carbon projects. The CFA operates in Nigeria, Colombia, South Africa, Egypt, Uganda, Türkiye, Mexico, Peru, Pakistan, and Vietnam. The CFA offers a range of capacity building support to assist climate mitigation projects in accessing finance. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change — Global Climate Action Awards
The United Nations (UN) welcomes the submission activities that serve as examples of what people around the world are doing to address climate change. For 2023, the Awards seek to highlight the innovative climate action that young people around the world are undertaking to ensure their communities are more sustainable, resilient, and equitable places to live. EIT Climate-KIC — Sustainable Cities Mobility Challenge
EIT Climate-KIC seeks to decarbonise transport, improve local air quality and accelerate electric mobility in European cities. The call aims to support the transition to cleaner, greener, and more people-centered transport, in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal. Cities and towns (with a population of at least 25,000) in the EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries (including the United Kingdom) and Switzerland are eligible to apply. Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency — Disaster Emergency Funding
The Caribbean Disaster Management Agency provides Country Directed Funds seeks to build the resilience of Caribbean states to disaster risks and climate change impacts. The Country Directed Fund consists of grants of up to a maximum of €60 thousand. National Disaster Management Offices and relevant national agencies responsible for CDM implementation from the following states may apply: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago. Partnership for Forests — Innovative Partnerships in Forestry
Partnership for Forests promotes partnerships among governments, civil society, and private enterprises to address deforestation and improve livelihoods by investing in forests and sustainable land use in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. The program provides a combination of grants and technical assistance to help selected partnerships move towards commercial scale-up. Grants normally range from £10 thousand to £1 million. Applicants should provide matched funding of at least 25%. Applications are welcome from private companies, cooperatives and trade associations, civil society and community-based organizations, NGOs, and research institutes. There is no deadline. German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development — Tiger Habitat Conservation Program
The Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP), supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) promotes and supports tiger conservation while considering the needs of local communities. Project grant size can vary from a minimum of € 0.5 million to a maximum of € 2 million. In addition to the six Tiger Range Countries, namely India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand are also eligible. In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must be a local or an international non-governmental organization, civil society organization, or government authority. United States Agency for International Development — Oceans Plastics
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the “Oceans Plastics – Solid Waste Management Activity.” The activity’s goal is to reduce waste in municipalities leading to cleaner oceans in the Dominican Republic. United Nations Development Programme — Scaling up Climate Ambition on Land Use and Agriculture
The SCALA Private Sector Engagement Facility seeks to identify private sector-oriented interventions to engage businesses in implementing climate plans to mobilize resources and develop innovative climate services solutions. The call for interest to receive support from the SCALA PSE Facility is open to Small Island Developing States and middle-income countries. Dubai Municipality — Dubai International Award for Best Practices
The Dubai Municipality, in collaboration with UN Habitat, offers Best Practices Awards for outstanding contributions that demonstrate valuable contributions to sustainable urban development. The five award categories include one on urban food systems, and one on addressing climate change and reducing pollution. The competition is open to governments, nonprofits, companies, universities and individuals. Total award prizes sum up to US$1 million. Winners will be announced at the awarding ceremony of the 13th cycle in Dubai. The deadline to receive submissions is 31 August 2023. Link to the award
New Zealand Aid Program — Collaborate Pacific Fund
Collaborate Pacific aims to support effective governance, leadership, regional cooperation, and sustainable development in the Pacific. The fund supports small-scale activities in thematic priority areas: Agriculture, Climate Change, Oceans and Fisheries, Renewable Energy, and many other development priorities. Funding can cover travel (including transport, accommodation, and meals) and event costs (including hosting costs).
