U.S. Department of State — Congo Basin Conclave
The U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to organize a regional conclave bringing together stakeholders working to preserve the Congo Basin. Phase one of the project will start with country-specific sessions for U.S. government selected participants. During phase two of the project, a maximum of 50 participants from the five country specific sessions will gather in Kinshasa for a 1-2 day Congo Basin Conclave. The Conclave will provide a forum that enables experts to network across borders. Finally, participants will conceive and propose projects for U.S. government funding that invest in the people of the Congo Basin. Awards to organize the conclave may range from US$200 thousand to US$250 thousand. Eligibility to apply extends to non-profit organizations, individuals, non-profit educational institutions and governmental institutions from s from the U.S. and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. IBM — Global Water Management Solutions
IBM launches a request for proposals to help accelerate global water management solutions for vulnerable populations. IBM will support projects that can help improve access to safe drinking water for all, improve water quality by reducing pollution, increase water-use efficiency, protect and restore water-related ecosystems, increase sanitation management, and reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity. Nonprofit and governmental organizations are eligible to apply. IBM provides organizations with credits for IBM Cloud and IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite Data APIs as well as technical mentorship to advance the initiative. U. S. Department of Agriculture — Food for Progress Program
The Food for Progress Program provides for the donation of U.S. agricultural commodities to developing countries committed to expanding free enterprise in the agricultural sector. The objective is to improve agricultural productivity and to expand trade of agricultural products. The Program has prioritized the following areas: the Cacao sector, the Coffee sector, the Spices sector, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards, the Trade Facilitation Agreement, and Climate Smart Agriculture. The estimated funding per award is US$20-US$39 million. The following entities are eligible to apply: governments of emerging agricultural countries, nonprofit organizations, universities, and any other private entity. Expo Live supports novel solutions that address pressing environmental and climate challenges. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in funding to support the growth of social enterprises, startups and grassroots projects from around the world that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges. The Social Innovation Tournament recognizes and supports the best European social entrepreneurs with projects focusing on the environment (with a special emphasis on biodiversity and ecosystem conservation). Prizes range from €10 thousand to €75 thousand. In 2023, the Special Category prizes will go to projects focusing on sustainable cities and communities. Solution Search — Changing Unsustainable Trade
Rare’s Center for Behavior & the Environment and partners seek existing solutions that are changing behaviors to help solve the world’s most challenging environmental problems. For this year’s contest, Solutions Search seeks proven behavior-change initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean that reduce the unsustainable/illegal wildlife trade. The Energy Transition Facility (ETF) aims to support countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region) with their transition to a more sustainable energy supply. National governments can request advice and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency will decide how to best support the proposal, plan or idea. Proposals and requests for government-to-government collaboration can be submitted by governments and government partners in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Mozambique, the Palestinian Territories, Tanzania, and Tunisia.
