United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification — Media Reporting Fellowship

The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the International Drought Resilience Alliance (IDRA) invite journalists to apply for a fellowship to cover the COP17 conference in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The program is open to professional staff or freelance journalists who work with recognized media outlets and are based in countries affected by desertification, land degradation, or drought. Six selected fellows will receive fully funded support, including return economy-class airfare to Mongolia, accommodation, and media accreditation to the conference. Halcyon — Caribbean Climate Pre-Accelerator

Halcyon offers a six-month hybrid program to support early-stage climate founders in the Caribbean. The initiative is open to for-profit startups and social enterprises based in the region that are developing scalable solutions for climate adaptation and resilience. Selected ventures receive a US$6 thousand equity-free stipend, US$10 thousand in Amazon Web Services credits, and access to expert workshops and professional advisors. Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research — Fellowship Program

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) enables early-career researchers to join a project team from another country for research activities that further our understanding of Antarctica. The fellowship is for PhD students to undertake research at major international laboratories, field facilities, or institutes in SCAR member countries. Pulitzer Center — Ocean and Fisheries Reporting Grant

The Pulitzer Center invites applications for its Ocean and Fisheries Reporting Grant, which supports in-depth journalism on underreported issues such as illegal fishing, marine pollution, and the impacts of climate change on coastal communities. The program is open to all journalists, including staff reporters, freelancers, photographers, and filmmakers from any country. Proposed projects should focus on systemic threats to marine biodiversity or the global supply chains that drive resource depletion. Swedish Institute — Global Executive Program

The Swedish Institute invites applications for its Global Executive Programme, which focuses on integrating sustainability into core business strategies. This initiative is open to senior executives, such as CEOs and top managers, from medium to large companies in 24 participating countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The program covers all training fees, as well as accommodation and meals during a one-week onsite module in Stockholm; however, participants or their companies are generally expected to cover their own travel costs to Sweden. Earth Journalism Network — GEF Assembly Fellowships

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) provides fellowships for journalists to report on the Eighth Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. This program is open to professional journalists from any medium, including print, online, radio, and television, who have a demonstrated track record of environmental reporting. Eligible applicants must be from low- or middle-income countries and possess at least five years of experience in the field. The fellowship covers all travel expenses, including airfare, accommodation, meals, and local transportation, and provides selected participants with specialized training and access to high-level interviews during the event. NYU — Climate Economics Journalism Fellowship

The NYU Stern Climate Economics Journalism Fellowship is a two-day in-person fellowship designed to help journalists navigate the complex economic and financial shifts driven by climate change. This international opportunity is open to professional journalists (reporters, editors, and freelancers) worldwide who have a strong interest in covering the intersection of climate and the economy; prior formal training in economics is not required. African Women in Agricultural Research and Development — Gender Responsive Agriculture Systems Policy

African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) manages the Women in Agriculture Leadership Program to strengthen the leadership and research skills of female scientists working on climate-responsive agriculture. This two-year, non-residential fellowship is open to mid-career women scientists who are nationals of and reside in Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, or Sierra Leone. While the program does not provide direct cash grants to individuals, it is a fully funded fellowship that covers all costs for high-level leadership training, science mentoring, and professional development workshops. Australian Government — Australia Awards Africa

The Australian Government invites applications for the Australia Awards scholarships to provide mid-to-senior-level professionals from eligible African countries the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in Australia. The program targets individuals from 25 countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, and South Africa, who work in priority sectors such as agriculture, climate change, and international security. Applicants must be at least 25 years old and possess five years of relevant post-graduate work experience.
