UNESCO-TWAS offers a postdoctoral fellowship program for displaced and refugee scholars and scientists. Bayer Crop Science seeks satellite-based remote sensing technology providers to help make this technology accessible and affordable to smallholder farmers in Asia. The technology must support these farmers in making the cultivation of their fields more efficient and sustainable. The monetary value of the contract will vary depending on the project. Zurich University of Applied Sciences — Research Partnership Grants South Asia and Iran
The Research Partnership Grants support research projects with collaborating institutions in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Leading House South Asia and Iran accepts grant applications solely from applicants. The Swiss applicant needs to have a proposed or an ongoing research project with an institutional partner in South Asia or Iran. The maximum grant amount per project is CHF35 thousand. Both the applicant and the partner institute abroad are required to make in-kind contributions to the proposed research project. Swedish Institute — Sustainable Growth in the Baltic Sea Region
The Swedish Institute offers project funding through the call ‘Third Country Participation in the Baltic Sea region’. The Institute funds projects that will contribute to economic, environmentally and socially sustainable growth in the Baltic Sea region and its immediate area. The main applicant has to be based in Sweden, but must include at least three actors in three different countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, or Ukraine. Prince Bernhard Nature Fund — Conservation of Endangered Species
The Prince Bernhard Nature Fund (PBNF) aims to save critically endangered flora and fauna in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It gives funding preference to organizations in these regions, sometimes in partnership with parties in Europe or North America. Projects have to focus on critically endangered species on the IUCN Red List. Grants are up to €20 thousand or US$20 thousand. Energy Efficiency Innovation Challenge calls for the submission of business ideas or solutions that can contribute to lowering energy consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The European Union Rural Development Program aims to improve agricultural production, management of natural resources, and promote sustainable and efficient use of water in Tajikistan. The goal is to enable inclusive growth and resilience to extreme climate conditions in rural communities and to improve livelihood in rural areas. The overall amount made available under this call is €15 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations. Research Environment Links grants provide financial support for capacity strengthening and collaboration activities to develop and sustain medium- to long-term relationships in the UK and partner countries. The British Council invites proposals for research collaboration and partnerships between universities and research institutes in Egypt, Malaysia, Morocco, Thailand or Turkey. Each proposal must have one Lead Applicant from the partner country and one Lead Applicant from the UK. Research Links funds any discipline or cross-discipline for up to £50 thousand. U.S. Mission to Kazakhstan — Media Program for Renewable Energy
The U.S. Mission in Kazakhstan seeks applications to improve the media coverage on renewable energy issues in Kazakhstan. The project should be designed to provide in-depth training on renewable energy to at least 50 journalists from different regions of Kazakhstan, who in turn will be required to produce at least four articles on the theme of green energy or climate change. The applicant should provide online media training classes, covering the topics of renewable energy, global and local efforts in preventing climate change. USAID will provide up to US$46 thousand in funding for project implementation. Eligibility extends to non-profit and for-profit organizations registered in Kazakhstan, as well as civil society organizations registered in the United States. French Institute of Tunisia — Youth & Environment
The French Institute of Tunisia launches the Youth & Environment program which is intended for local Tunisian associations proposing a concrete and realistic project on the theme of environmental protection. Projects committed to the protection of coastal and maritime areas are eligible. The program will select 18 projects to be implemented over a 2 year period.
