The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. (Note: This may include one or more categories covered by the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Grantees will receive a €900 monthly allowance on a quarterly basis and health insurance. U.S. Department of State — Economic Development in the Middle East
The MEPI Local Grants Program seeks proposals that support inclusive economic growth in the Western Sahara by improving local economic opportunities. Proposals should develop and implementing locally-designed solutions to environmental, economic, or social problems or promote inclusive economic growth that reaches marginalized communities. (Note: This may include one or more categories of the Terra Viva Grant Directory.) Budgets should fall between US$50 thousand and US$500 thousand. U.S. Mission to Benin — Funding for Community Organizations
The U.S. Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Fund (SSH) is aimed at assisting Beninese community groups to develop lasting, self-sustaining projects with focus on development concerns, including sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and access to clean water and sanitation. The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme invites international candidates from developing countries to apply for training courses scheduled during October-December in India. Topics for this period include courses in the themes of power, renewable & alternative energy; agriculture and rural development; environment & climate change; and others. The program covers transportation and visa costs, course fees, accommodation, and living and book allowances for course participants. DG Trésor invites French companies to submit innovative ideas and project proposals on solutions for sustainable cities in Africa. Up to 12 selected French SMEs and startups will receive up to €500 thousand to implement their project idea. Proposed projects can fall within the areas clean energy, climate, water, waste management, among others, and should be implemented in partnership with local African partners. The Takeda Foundation accepts applications for the Takeda Young Entrepreneurship Award. The Award is for young entrepreneurs trying to address real technological and social needs by creating goods and services that enhance the well-being of communities around the world. Past winners include projects in the field of water management, disaster-relief and biotechnology, among others. The winner of the Best Entrepreneur Award will receive 1 million Japanese yen. The Purley Overseas Trust aims to address the problems of deprivation in the developing world by supporting grassroots projects which allow people to help themselves. The Trust makes grants for small-scale projects across a range of interests that include agriculture, water supply, energy, and others. Grant recipients are development-oriented charities in the UK and internationally. There is no limit on grant size, but most grants are in the range of £200 to £1,000. Unleash — Innovation Lab 2019
Unleash invites young experts from all around the world to participate in the 2019 Innovation Lab in Shenzhen (Nov 2019) to create real, scalable solutions towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, offers academy fellowships to international leaders. The fellowship is aimed at mid-career professionals from academia, NGOs, business, government departments, civil society or the media. The fellowship is open to candidates worldwide.
