Swedish Institute — Women’s Social Enterprise in the MENA Region

The Swedish Institute supports “She Entrepreneurs” to develop women’s leadership in social enterprise in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region). She Entrepreneurs is intended for women who have already started to build a social business (possibly in subject areas relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory). The program consists of seminars, workshops, and interactive learning methods mixed with reflection sessions, team-building, and practical exercises. The Swedish Institute covers the costs of participating in the training program. Eligibility to apply extends to women ages 22 to 45 in Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, or Palestine. Applications can be submitted until 06 March 2025. She Entrepreneurs

Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe — Danubius Young Scientists 2025

The Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe, in partnership with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research, offers the Danubius Award to honor persons with extraordinary scientific achievement in relation to the Danube Region. The Danubius Young Scientist Award will be granted to 14 young scientists one in each of Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Romania, and Ukraine. Priority is for work that is relevant beyond national borders, in any discipline. Each winner will receive €1,350. The deadline for nominations is 09 May 2025. Danubius Young Scientist Award

Einstein Forum — Einstein Fellowship 2026

The Einstein Forum offers a fellowship for early-career researchers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research. Please note that the proposed project must be significantly different in content, field, and form, from the applicant’s previous work. The fellowship includes living accommodations for up to 6 months in Caputh (Germany). The fellow will receive a stipend of €10 thousand and reimbursement of travel expenses. Candidates must be under 35 and hold a university degree in the humanities, the social sciences, or the natural sciences. Applicants have to submit their application by 15 May 2025. Details

Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Graduate Researchers Award 2025

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for the Graduate Researchers Award to foster innovative research and discovery in biodiversity informatics. GBIF will present awards of €5 thousand each to one master’s student and one doctoral student. Students must apply through and be nominated by a Head of Delegation of a GBIF participant country. The deadline for nominations is 27 June 2025, although some GBIF national delegations are likely to set earlier deadlines. GBIF Graduate Researchers Award

Imperial College London — Climate Investment Challenge

The Climate Investment Challenge calls on graduate students to develop financial solutions and innovations addressing climate change, such as untapped climate finance opportunities or innovative financial structures that improve the bankability of climate investments. The Main Prize challenges students to create innovative financial structures or instruments that enhance the bankability of climate investments or utilize existing tools to explore untapped climate finance opportunities. The Emerging and Developing Markets Prize calls on students to use innovative financial instruments or existing financial tools to address an underserved climate change issue. The Data Analytics Prize is looking for students to develop creative ways to combine existing climate and environmental datasets with financial information to improve the adoption of climate finance or address climate risk. Eligibility extends to students enrolled in a postgraduate degree (Master’s, MBA, or PhD-level) at the time of the submission. West African Research Association — Pre-doctoral Fellowship

The West African Research Association, (WARA) offers pre-doctoral fellowships. The fellowship is for 2 to 3 months of research in West Africa during summer. This competition is open to U.S. citizens who are currently enrolled in graduate programs at institutions of higher education in the United States. Each fellowship will provide round-trip travel to a West African country and a stipend of up to US$3,500. Applications must be submitted by 23 February 2025. WARA Pre-doctoral Fellowship

The West African Research Association, (WARA) offers postdoctoral fellowships. The fellowship is for 2 to 3 months of research in West Africa during summer. This competition is open to U.S. citizens holding a Ph.D. Each fellowship will provide round-trip travel to a West African country and a stipend of up to US$3,500. Panthera — Grants for Research and Conservation of Wild Cats 2025

Panthera makes grants for research and conservation of the world’s populations of wild cats. The Small Cat Action Fund (up to US$15 thousand) supports in situ conservation and research on many of the world’s 31 small cat species. The Winston Cobb Memorial Fellowship (US$10 thousand) is made to an exceptional early-career conservationist to undertake a field-based internship for training and experience on a wild cat conservation project selected by Panthera. International Water Association — Researcher Awards 2025

The International Water Association calls for nominations for the Ardern-Lockett Award and the IWA MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Awards. The Ardern-Lockett award recognizes outstanding contributions to research and practice in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. The MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Award recognize accomplishments of a mid-career professional in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. Siemens — Tech for Sustainability

Tech for Sustainability Campaign is a global initiative for students, researchers, startups and innovative individuals to leverage technology to solve real-world sustainability challenges. Challenges include climate resilience, and global energy. Every challenge listed needs a feasible and technologically viable solution to implement it commercially.
