BeAnimal — Autumn Writing Competition

BeAnimal invited submissions to the autumn writing competition. Participants have to submit a short story (500-1000 words in length) about nature and sustainability. The grand prize is a trip to the Valley of Flowers National Park in India. The contest is open to anyone. Submissions have to be made in English. The submission deadline is 16 December 2019. More

TravelGrants — Youth Travel Grant Opportunity 2019

TravelGrants supports young activists, changemakers, charities, students, social media influencers, and artists from around the world with travel grants. The travel project must represent an opportunity to gain intercultural knowledge and learn about an environment other than the applicants. The winner will receive a US$500 travel grant. Participants have to be between 18 and 35 years old. The deadline for the submission is 31 December 2019. Find out more

Green Campus Initiative — Green Fellowships 2020

Green Campus Initiative offers a 12 month fellowship program which will serve as a platform for executing eco-conscious ideas and innovations. Successful applicants will receive stipends and funded training. Applicants must be a recent graduate or postgraduate student currently undertaking a leadership role in an organization, company or association. The fellowship opportunity is open to all countries. American Society for Microbiology — Visiting Research Professorships in Microbiology

American Society for Microbiology (ASM), in partnership with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF), announces the ASM-IUSSTF Indo-US Professorship in Microbiology. This program seeks to broaden scientific collaboration between India and the United States though travel grants that support research and teaching partnerships. A grant up to US$5 thousand is provided to cover travel costs, visa and contingencies. Funds must be matched by the host institution (note: matching grants may be in-kind contributions). Delft University of Technology — Sub-Saharan Africa Excellence Scholarships

TU Delft | Global Initiative offers four (4) Sub-Saharan Africa Excellence Scholarships to to study at the Delft University of Technology. The scholarship offers €25 thousand per year to applicants admitted to one of the 2-year regular MSc programs. Government of India — India-Israel Joint Research Cooperation

The Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of State of Israel provide financial support for joint research activities carried out by Indian and Israeli researchers. The priority area under this call is Renewable Energy. The maximum funding available for all research projects under this call is Rs. 4 crore for the Indian side and 4 million NIS for the Israeli side, for the two year period. U.S. Agency for International Development — Initiative for Hygiene, Sanitation and Nutrition in Afghanistan

Initiative for Hygiene, Sanitation and Nutrition Innovation Fund grants awards for innovative approaches aimed at increasing access to and utilization of nutrition, hygiene and sanitation services in Afghanistan. Seed Grants (up to $60 thousand) are made to concept activities that are innovative and not previously implemented in nutrition or WASH. Advance Grants (up to $250 thousand) support approaches, technologies, services, products and processes that have already demonstrated feasibility and are ready to transition to the scale-up stage. Scale Up Grants are to support the scale-up stage of currently employed community-based programs. Eligibility extends to national and international nonprofit organizations, for-profit organizations, and institutions working in nutrition or WASH. WWF South Africa — Funding Environmental Conservation in Southern Africa

The WWF Nedbank Green Trust funds innovative projects to solve socio-environmental challenges in South Africa. Projects should focus mainly on South Africa with strong focus on environmental outcomes relevant to the wellbeing of people. The Green Trust will invest up to R3 million over 3 years. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — Conservation Grants 2019

The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal. University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland — MENA Young Scientists Mobility Grants

The “young scientists’ mobility grant” aims to develop new research partnerships and collaborations between Switzerland and MENA countries. Priority countries under this call are: Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. Mobility grants can be awarded to young scientists who hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree (no PhD) and have less than 6 years of professional research experience. The call is open for activities and research visits in all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The applicant’s mobility visit should have a minimum duration of 4 weeks and with a maximum of CHF5 thousand per grant. (Note: The application form must be completed by the Swiss main applicant).
