The European Commission seeks to strengthen the civil society in Georgia and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms. One priority area (Lot 4) under the current call is climate change and mitigating its adverse effects, including negative impacts of environmental degradation on the public health. The European Commission seeks to support civil society organizations as actors of governance in order to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The EC will provide financial assistance to inequality initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Each region has specifically defined program priorities, including income and wealth inequality, land rights, access to natural resources such as water for agriculture. Any requested contribution under this call for proposals must be €3.6 million. TRANSFORM — Sanitation for Underserved Urban Areas
TRANSFORM offers support to water utilities in Sub-Saharan Africa with innovative ideas and WASH solutions that meet the sanitation needs of underserved consumers in urban areas. Two successful projects will receive up to £250 thousand in funding, in addition to in-kind support over a 12-18 month period. Joint applications from NGOs, academics, consultants, and funders based in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe are encouraged. Cities Alliance — Small Grants for Climate Adaptation
Cities Alliance seeks affordable and innovative climate adaptation concepts, products and processes at the community level to foster the dialogue between local communities and local governments. This specific call targets urban communities in two sub-regions, the Greater Horn of Africa (Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda) and the Bay of Bengal (Bangladesh and Myanmar). Projects with a duration of 8 months can request funding of up to US$30 thousand. Community-based organisations, national and local NGOs and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Environment and Climate Action in Southeast Asia
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in any one of the following countries: Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand. The priorities include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is expected to be in the range of C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Larger projects may be considered on an exceptional basis. International Initiative for Impact Evaluation — Empowering Women
The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation invite proposals for implementation and/or evaluation grants under our the program “Swashakt: Empowering women through collective based approaches.” Proposals that aim to expand and increase economic returns; build women’s leadership; and expand technical and business strength of existing women’s collective enterprises are particularly welcome. 3ie will provide funding of up to US$1 million for selected implementation and evaluation projects with a duration of up to 3 years. Waterloo Foundation — Small Grants
The Waterloo Foundations makes small grants to small UK charities which are working to deliver projects in developing countries. Current funding priorities are Nutrition, Education, WASH and Sexual and Reproductive Health. Organizations based in a developing countries can also apply for support but must provide a reference for their work in form of a UK referee. The majority of grants are £5-£10 thousand for one to two year projects. Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv — Small-Scale Grants for Ukraine
The Government of Norway announces small-scale grant project proposals within the thematic areas: human rights, democracy, freedom of speech, and promoting energy efficiency projects with substantial environmental component on community level. Applications can request between NOK 500 thousand and NOK 1 million, but smaller grants might also be considered. The project implementation period is limited to 12 months. Eligibility extends to Ukrainian organizations. Projects implemented in cooperation with Norwegian, international NGOs, or by international organizations will also be considered.
