Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency — Modern Cooking Facility for Africa

The Modern Cooking Facility for Africa (MCFA) is a financing program supporting scale-up of clean cooking solutions in six Sub-Saharan African countries. MCFA offers results-based financing for clean cooking companies to grow and scale up their businesses in following countries: the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Ethiopia, Djibouti, African Union

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Ethiopia, Djibouti, African Union. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. The average contribution is C$30 thousand to C$50 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Energias de Portugal — Clean Energy Projects in Remote Rural Areas

Energias de Portugal (EDP) supports sustainable and clean energy projects in remote rural areas. The 4th edition of the EDP Energy Access Fund supports clean energy projects in Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Rwanda. Projects are expected to relieve energy poverty across one or more of five focus areas, including water and agriculture (boreholes, water pumping and crop irrigation). Projects may apply for support between €50 thousand and €150 thousand. Eligibility extends to non-profit and for-profit entities. Individuals or groups are not eligible. Government of Norway — Small Grants Program on Plastic Waste

The Small Grant Program on Plastic Waste seeks to improve the management of plastic waste and contribute towards preventing and significantly reducing marine pollution. The Program seeks to identify and implement low-cost high impact pilot projects on the ground. Selected projects will seek to enhance capacities in partner countries to implement and enforce the Basel Convention and manage plastic waste in an environmentally sound manner. Budgets range from US$65 thousand to US$180 thousand. The projects will benefit countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Central and Eastern Europe. European Commission — Civil Society Development in Jamaica and Belize

The European Commission (EC) aims to promote capacity development of local civil society in Jamaica and Belize. The action aims to contribute to an inclusive and independent civil society which engages in decision making, is able to address and respond to development challenges, and empowers women and girls. Applicants may request between €150 thousand and €500 thousand in project funding. U.S. Mission Turkey — Grants Program

U.S. Mission Turkey announces a grants program to support projects in the fields of agribusiness, innovative agricultural technology/practices, combatting climate change, developing the blue economy, and promoting the role of women in peace and security, among others. Legally registered civil society organizations, non-profit organizations, universities and individuals operating in Turkey can apply. Grants range from US$5 thousand to US$75 thousand. Save Our Species — Threatened Species Grants Sturgeons

IUCN Save Our Species (SOS) aims to support on-the-ground conservation actions with the goal of improving the status of threatened sturgeon species and their habitats in the Black Sea basin. The goal is to enable and support conservation projects that can apply sustainable conservation measures to protect threatened sturgeon species, their habitats and to improve the livelihoods of the people who depend on them. Grants range from CHF50 thousand to CHF150 thousand. SOS requires matching resources in relation to grant size. Applications are open to non-profit local or national civil society organizations, international organizations and university/research institutions. Save Our Species — Threatened Species Grants Africa

The SOS African Wildlife Initiative invites proposals for Rapid Action Grants targeting terrestrial or freshwater threatened species in South Africa. Rapid Action Grants are designed to enable immediate responses to threats linked to the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences. Civil Society Organizations and public entities are eligible to apply. Maximum grant size is €100 thousand with no matching funds required. The maximum duration of the project should be 12 months. The deadline for applications is 31 March 2022. Climate Investment Platform — EmPower Her

EmPower Her seeks to close the financing gap for early-stage clean energy projects in least developed markets by supporting women-led organizations or organizations whose main focus is women’s empowerment. Private sector developers, NGOs, universities and research centers from least developed countries are eligible to apply.
