Global Environmental Education Partnership — Youth Innovation Challenge 2023

The Youth Innovation Challenge (YIC) invites applicants from 15 to 30 years of age to share their innovative solutions to protect marine resources and support people of all ages to be engaged stewards for marine conservation. Global Environmental Education Partnership seeks solutions that are innovative, feasible, and informed by research. Three solutions will be awarded a US$1000 prize. Irish Aid — Ireland Fellows Programme 2024/25

Irish Aid offers scholarships to qualified candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to undertake Masters degrees at universities and colleges in Ireland. Awards are made in the fields of development studies, rural development, biodiversity conservation, and many other subject areas relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory. The scholarship covers course fees, flights, accommodation, monthly allowances, insurance and other incidental expenses. The deadline for applications is 30 July 2023. Application Information

Lipman Family Prize — Funding for Social Change

Each year, the Lipman Family Prize awards cash to three social impact organizations – US$250 thousand for the winning organization and US$125 thousand for each of the two other honorees. The award recognizes and amplifies the work of organizations devoted to positive social impact and creating sustainable solutions to significant social and economic challenges. Past winners include projects in the field of improved sanitation, energy innovations, and micro-forestry. Social Shifters — Global Climate Challenge

Social Shifters announces the Global Innovation Challenge to help young leaders and founders to solve the social or environmental issues that matter to them. The challenge seeks creative ideas, projects, and business solutions to the problems that matter to local communities and welcomes ideas from anywhere in the world. Participants compete for awards of up to US$10 thousand to deliver activities that improve lives, help communities, and protect the planet. Women for Africa Foundation — Research Fellowships in Spain

The Women for Africa Foundation has launched the 9th Edition of its “Science by Women” program. The program aims to promote African women’s leadership in scientific research and technology transfer, and to foster the capacity of the research centers in their home countries. Thematic areas include sustainable agriculture and food security, water, energy and climate change; and several others. Each Spanish Centers of Excellence will host one senior woman researcher for a six-month fellowship. Eligibility to apply extends to women who are nationals of any African country, and who have a PhD, with at least three years of postdoctoral experience. Scottish Government — Asia Partnerships Higher Education Research Fund

The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Scotland Asia Partnerships Higher education Research (SAPHIRE) Fund is available to Scottish universities to enable research to include a focus on environmental issues and climate change. Funding of up to £10 thousand will be provided to support existing research projects in climate research, emissions research, sustainable energy, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, water and food, and clean water, among others. The scheme is open to Scottish researchers with a partner from either Australia, India, Japan, Pakistan, South Korea, Singapore or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Climate Investment Funds — Youth Fellowship

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) supports young climate professionals with a career-focused fellowship program. The CIF Youth Fellowship is a professional capacity-building program focused on providing hands-on experience to young leaders in global climate action. CIF Youth Fellows will work with Multilateral Development Banks on real-world projects in areas related to nature-based solutions, clean energy, adaptation and climate resilience, energy access, and gender and social inclusion. Candidates must be between 18-28 years and reside in Egypt, Tunisia, Kenya, India, Jamaica, or Thailand. The application deadline is 07 July 2023. CIF Youth Fellowship

U.S. Department of State — Climate Solutions and Sustainable Entrepreneurship

The U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit a statement of interest to carry out a program to expand the Department’s response to the climate crisis. The overall goal is to create local communities of entrepreneurs that are more market-savvy and better able to generate climate solutions. Awards range from US$50 thousand to US$260 thousand. Eligibility extends to U.S. and foreign non-profit organizations; institutions of higher education; and businesses. The closing date for applications is 14 July 2023. Link

Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation — Youth Actions Challenge

The 1 Million Youth Actions Challenge supports youth-led initiatives related to clean water and sanitation, responsible consumption and production, climate action & biodiversity. Youth between 15 and 24 years from all around the world are invited to submit their solutions and projects. Selected projects will receive financial support up to C$5 thousand each and technical support. The call is open until 16 July 2023. Youth Actions Challenge

Ashley Lashley Foundation — Global Climate Fund

The Global HEY Climate Fund aims to assist three young climate activists with their projects. The selected projects will receive US$5 thousand each. Applicants must submit proposals or an idea surrounding the topics: Climate Change and Health, Climate Change, Water Conservation and Food Security, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change.
