TU Delft | Global Initiative offers four (4) Sub-Saharan Africa Excellence Scholarships to to study at the Delft University of Technology. The scholarship offers €25 thousand per year to applicants admitted to one of the 2-year regular MSc programs. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Biotechnology Fellowships in USA

The IUSSTF announces the 2020 Khorana Program for Scholars. The program will provide a stipend, airfare, and health insurance to enable Indian students to undertake 10-12 weeks of research at U.S. universities in areas of biotechnology, including agricultural biotechnology. British Council — Newton PhD Scholarships Philippines

The aim of the Newton PhD Program offers full-time PhD scholarships for Filipino researchers at a UK higher education institution. The project must fall within the following priority areas (relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory): Improving environmental resilience; Improving energy security; Agritech; among other thematic areas. For an applicant to be considered for the DOST-Newton PhD Scholarship, the applicant must be a Filipino Citizen and have already been accepted to a PhD program in the UK. The scholarship will cover travel costs, monthly accommodation and living allowance, tuition fees, and a grant for consumables (up to a maximum of £3 thousand per year). IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — PhD Fellowship in Environmental Biotechnology

IHE Delft offers a PhD fellowship as part of the “NOMAD” Project to evaluate different methods for the removal of endocrine disrupters. Research will take place at the laboratory of IHE Delft (The Netherlands). The Fellow will receive €1190 /month, plus allowance for books and study materials. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in environmental biotechnology, environmental engineering, sanitary engineering, or similar to be considered for this fellowship. Fundación La Caixa — Work4Progress Challenge

The Work4Progress challenge seeks projects that generate new employment opportunities for women and young adults in India, Mozambique and Peru. Projects should focus on technologies to promote entrepreneurship among young women (India), agri-technologies to improve crops (Mozambique), agri-technologies to improve irrigation (Peru). Government of India — India-Czech Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation

The Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Czech invite joint proposals under the India-Czech Scientific and Technological Cooperation Programme. Relevant priority areas under this call are (1) natural sciences and biotechnology; and (2) research of climate change, environment and energy; among others. The program will consider a realistic budget for manpower, consumables, and travel expenses (for exchange visits). The duration of each project should be three years. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Fellowship for Women in STEMM

The IUSSTF invites Indian women to apply for the Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM (WISTEMM)” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) program at reputed scientific/technological institutions in the USA. Project research areas include agricultural sciences, among many others. The program includes health insurance, airfare, and a monthly stipend of US$2,500. Eligibility extends to Indian women currently pursuing Ph.D. degree in Basic Sciences, Engineering or Technology on a full-time basis at any recognized academic institution/R&D institute/university in India. U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellowship

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowship offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation — Scholarships 2019-2020

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. (Note: This may include one or more categories covered by the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Grantees will receive a €900 monthly allowance on a quarterly basis and health insurance. Applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in Italian language (not required for courses entirely taught in English). Applications must be submitted by 30 May 2019. U.S. Department of State — Economic Development in the Middle East

The MEPI Local Grants Program seeks proposals that support inclusive economic growth in the Western Sahara by improving local economic opportunities. Proposals should develop and implementing locally-designed solutions to environmental, economic, or social problems or promote inclusive economic growth that reaches marginalized communities. (Note: This may include one or more categories of the Terra Viva Grant Directory.) Budgets should fall between US$50 thousand and US$500 thousand. Eligibility extends to US and foreign organizations and universities based in based in Algeria, Bahrain, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Qatar, Tunisia, or Yemen.
