The Student Solidarity Awards aim to encourage associations of students in institutions of higher education to take initiatives in community-oriented projects. The program is open in countries around the world where the Veolia group is present. The awards are for innovative approaches in themes that include environmental conservation, development aid, and workforce development. Three contest winners will divide €10 thousand in grants. Thought for Food — MENA Agri-Food-Tech Challenge
The Thought For Food (TFF) Foundation invites innovators across the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) region to share their innovative solutions to transform food systems. The challenge call is open to all entrepreneurs from the MENA region who have a solution to create a healthier, more sustainable and resilient food system. One Grand Prize winner will receive US$8 thousand to use for the purpose of their project and access to the TFF Digital Labs collaboration platform. The deadline to apply is 05 February 2022. CRDF Global — Alternative Energy Research Competition 2022
CRDF Global invites proposals from joint teams of U.S. and Ukrainian researchers for the 2022 US-Ukraine Alternative Energy Research Competition. The competition will support research teams engaged in basic or applied research in the area of photovoltaic, turbine, and biofuel technology. National Geographic Society — Buffett Awards for Conservation Leadership in Africa and Latin America 2022
The National Geographic Society, in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, welcomes nominations for the 2022 Buffett Awards for Leadership in Conservation. There is one annual award for Africa, and another for Latin America. Bayer Crop Science seeks satellite-based remote sensing technology providers to help make this technology accessible and affordable to smallholder farmers in Asia. A2A seeks concept papers to explore CCUS technologies and the potential markets for CO2 products. This challenge is designed specifically for methods that offer solutions to capture and reuse CO2. VivaTech seeks unique startups with innovative products, solutions and technologies that demonstrate a concrete and positive innovation for the planet. Enel Green Power (EGP) seeks to improve the environmental sustainability and biodiversity preservation of its renewable installations. In particular, EGP is looking for artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to be applied during the construction phase of renewable power plants to detect selected tree or other vegetation species that may be of particular importance for the local biodiversity equilibrium. Secretariat of the Southern African Development Community — Media Awards
The Secretariat of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) announces the 2022 SADC Media Awards competition in the four categories: Photo, Print, Television and Radio Journalism. The themes of the entries to be submitted for the competition must be on issues and activities promoting Regional Integration in the SADC region, i.e. development, water, culture, agriculture, etc. The first prize winner in each category receives US$2,500 and the runner-up receives US$1000.
