Asia Foundation — Grants for Environment and Development

The Asia Foundation makes grants in a wide variety of program areas, including Environment. Thematic interests in ‘Environment’ include natural resource management and use; water resource management and transboundary water sharing; climate change adaptation and resilience; disaster preparedness and risk reduction; urban environmental issues; and women and the environment. Cultural Survival — Indigenous Youth Fellowships

The Indigenous Youth Fellowship Project supports young Indigenous leaders between the ages of 17-28. Fellows work to represent the voices of their communities and bring awareness of local issues in the transition to renewable energy to global conversation. Grants range from US$2,500 to US$6,000. Eligible countries and regions are Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Panama, Venezuela, United States, Canada, Australia, DRC, Uganda, Indonesia, Sweden, Finland, Greenland, and Norway. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in the Philippines

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in the Philippines. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The average contribution is C$30 thousand. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national or community-based organizations. The deadline for submission is 28 April 2023. CFLI Philippines

Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in the ASEAN region

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in the ASEAN region. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The average contribution is C$20 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national or community-based organizations. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — MSc Scholarship

IHE Delft provides scholarships to enroll in IHE Delft’s MSc in Water and Sustainable Development to early and mid-career water professionals from MENA, Sahel and Small Island Development States. The scholarship includes tuition fees, insurance, international travel cost and an allowance of €1,115 per month for the cost of living and accommodation. The deadline of application for admission and scholarship is 15 May 2023. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Support Environmental Reporting from Asia-Pacific Island Countries

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists from island countries in the Asia-Pacific region to support the production of in-depth stories on climate, health and environmental issues, and solutions to address them. Journalists from low- and middle-income island countries will be prioritized. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience and a history of covering ocean issues. Hello Tomorrow — Asia Pacific Challenge

The Hello Tomorrow Challenge gives deep-tech and science-based entrepreneurs a platform for their projects, providing opportunities and connections with key players. Hello Tomorrow seeks early-stage startups in Asia Pacific that use advanced technology to answer societal or industrial challenges. The challenge includes one category for startups that focus on energy, food, agriculture & environment, among 10 others. The grand prize is S$30 thousand for the best early-stage startup. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Direct Assistance in Sustainable Forestry

The EU’s Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan includes grants of technical assistance to benefit government institutions and private-sector organizations. Projects need to address the identified themes in FLEGT. Currently, requests can be submitted from entities in VPA countries and non-VPA countries. The VPA countries are Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Liberia, Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Guyana, and Honduras. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Mauritius

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Mauritius. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, enabling greater participation in digital and green economies. The average contribution is C$30 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Association of Southeast Asian Nations — ASEAN Prize 2023

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) invites nominations for the ASEAN Prize 2023. The prize acknowledges ASEAN citizens or ASEAN-based organizations that have made outstanding contributions to ASEAN’s community building efforts.
