The Regional Studies Association (RSA) covers issues in the fields of climate change, energy, migration, and economic development. RSA makes awards to recent Masters graduates, PhD students, and early-career researchers who made an original and outstanding contribution to the field of regional studies. Award winners receive £500. Grants have no geographical limitation, past award holders come from Egypt, Argentina, China, etc. The deadline for nominations (both self-nominations and third-party nominations) is 30 April 2021. International Climate Initiative — Climate Innovation Leadership Program
EIT Climate-KIC seeks university partners to deliver the Climate Innovation Leadership Program in 2021. The Climate Innovation Leadership Program (CIL) empowers university students to become effective agents of change. CIL will equip participants with knowledge on climate change challenges. Participants will gain the ability to combine climate insights with new entrepreneurial and systems innovation skills to deliver an action and implement projects to combat climate change. Elrha — Adoption Challenge WASH Innovations
Elrha seeks local organizations interested in adopting innovations from their WASH Innovation catalogue into their programs. Funding of up to £150 thousand will be made available to cover the adoption costs. Eligibility extends to civil society organizations and NGOs who are a registered entity in the country of implementation. International Foundation for Science — Food Security Research Grants for Individuals
The International Foundation for Science invites research proposals on accelerating transformation through agricultural transformation in Southeast Asia. The current call focusses on initiatives that contribute to solutions or provide evidence in support of food security policy during the global pandemic, and economic and social crisis. Eligibility for funding extends to researchers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Vietnam, and Timor Leste. Fonds SUEZ Initiatives — Water, Sanitation, and Waste Management
Fonds Suez Initiatives makes grants and provides technical skills for projects in water, sanitation, and waste management in developing countries. Eligibility for grants extends to nonprofit organizations and institutions. For projects regarding access to essential services for disadvantaged populations in developing countries, the maximum grant is €80 thousand. The European Commission (EC) seeks to strengthen the active role of citizens and their direct involvement to address climate change and other human actions harming the environment. The European Commission (EC) announces a call for proposals aimed at research and innovation projects with focus on behavioral, social and cultural change for the European Green Deal. The European Commission (EC) seeks partners to develop a one-stop shop platform that provides technical, regulatory, financial and socio-economic expertise to cities for developing and implementing their climate action plans in support of a climate-neutral economy by 2050. The project can involve research organizations, academia, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, national and local authorities and citizens. The platform should facilitate the coordination of ongoing European activities in the area of climate neutrality for cities. The European Commission seeks applications for innovative land-based and offshore renewable energy technologies. Proposals should address either the development of land-based renewable energy technologies or innovative technologies to enable future large scale deployment of offshore renewable energy. Land-based energy projects may request a contribution of €3-6 million. Off-shore energy projects may request a contribution of up to €25 million. CRDF Global — International Scientific Cooperation
CRDF Global supports research, analysis, or organizational work of young leaders in international scientific cooperation. Three cash awards of US$6 thousand each will recognize innovative and promising approaches to the solution of global problems in international science collaboration, science for international development, and science for global security.
