The Scientific Cooperation Research Program supports applied research and education projects between U.S. researchers and foreign scientists that create practical solutions to challenges faced by small farmers. Proposed solutions should address issues including agricultural trade and market access, animal and plant health, biotechnology, food safety and security, and sustainable natural resource management. The program supports up to 10 collaborative research programs with up to US$50 thousand. Eligibility extends to US public and private institutions of higher education. International Initiative for Impact Evaluation — Bursaries for EvalMENA 2020 Conference
3ie offers five bursaries to support nationals from low-and-middle income countries for the EvalMENA 2020 conference, Evaluation for Sustainable Development and Change. The event will be held from 27 February to 1 March 2020 in Jordan. The event will include pre-conference workshops for emerging evaluators and sessions on new trends in evaluation, innovative methodologies and evaluation for resilience and climate change. Water and Energy for Food — Asia Agriculture & Energy Prize
The Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) Prize seeks business owners and entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia with innovations in renewable energy and agriculture. The Prize includes a US$355 thousand cash prize for winners and runners-up, and sponsorship to participate in the Clean Asia Energy Forum in the Philippines (June 2020). The Prize is open to mid-stage businesses and youth innovators. To be eligible for the mid-stage prize, enterprises must have existing services or products. #VALUE4HERConnect is Africa’s first agribusiness intelligence platform aimed at facilitating growth and development of women-owned agribusiness enterprises. The platform calls for registrations of women agri-businesses who wish to do business and trade in African and global agricultural markets. The aim is to create a network of women in agribusiness, increase information flow within women agribusiness networks and with their markets, supply chains and other service providers, including investment and financing partners. Regional Studies Association — Research Network Grant
The Regional Studies Association (RSA) covers issues in the fields of climate change, energy, migration, and economic development. RSA makes grants to researchers interested in establishing networks for research collaboration. The maximum funding is £10 thousand for newly established networks; and £7,500 for renewing networks. A research network must be organised and managed by active RSA members. Networks are typically made up of individuals from different countries, without any geographical limitation. The Asia New Zealand Foundation and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs offer young Southeast Asian agribusiness entrepreneurs the opportunity to visit New Zealand. Applicants will learn about the New Zealand agriculture business environment, meet and network with entrepreneurs and business leaders, and attend New Zealand’s leading agribusiness event, Fieldays. Applicants must be entrepreneurs or business leaders at CEO or senior management level involved in agriculture from an ASEAN country.
